What's one element of a fundraising appeal that too many nonprofits get wrong? 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆. Why? It might be difficult for you to come up with what is urgent about your programs. You can create a sense of urgency by explaining the problem from a beneficiary's perspective and why it's important to receive help 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄. Think about what happens when your donor gets an appeal. Your organization is not the only one the donor is supporting. Your appeal isn't the only one in the mailbox or inbox. If other organizations have urgency in their messaging and yours doesn't, the donor thinks, "this nonprofit needs my money right now, the other one can wait." But the donor doesn't come back to the non-urgent appeal later. Make sure your appeal has an element of urgency. #nonprofit #fundraising
