It’s not a club…….It’s a broadwick hybrid venue. But today it’s the biggest club in the world officially.

Scottie Scheffler is really good at golfing. And as he wakes up to see another green jacket hanging in his closet, Caitlin Clark wakes up for the last time not being the #1 pick in the WNBA draft. And we have all woken up to the opportunity to recognize a Nice Guy or Gal. Every Friday, I’ll share nominations for people who have been identified as nice guys (and gals). If you want to nominate someone, just shoot me a private message by 5:00 EST on Thursday. There are only 3 requirements: 1) you have to be connected to the person you nominate 2) you can only nominate one person per week 3) you can’t nominate yourself 😀 If you want to provide a brief reason for your selection, that’s great, but it’s not a requirement. Let’s recognize people who make a difference simply by being nice. Have a great day, everyone. https://lnkd.in/e8JX9YcC #network #sportsbiz #people #niceguy #networking #sportsmarketing

Las Vegas wants more of that sweet F1 dough. Here’s the economic value one race brought to the city. 1. The race created more than 7,000 jobs for locals who earned more than $50 million in wages. 2. F1 tourists spent 3.6x more than the usual Vegas tourist, spending more $800 million during the F1 weekend. 3. F1 themselves spent more than $80 million on improving public infrastructure in the city. 4. The event generated $77 million in tax revenue, which is more than any other event in the city’s history. With a total economic impact of $1.5 billion, it was the largest sporting event in Las Vegas history.

https://lnkd.in/d2npkgGS Applause to Mads Kikkenborg for talking about his first experiences abroad. A lot of his colleagues experience these challenges at an even earlier age (16-20). Neither the players nor their parents are aware of the social challenges that will hit them, when they close their apartment door after training every day. It will hit hard. My hope is that stakeholders (agents, club selling, club buying) in the football industry will soon start to support the players at a personal level off the pitch. It will be good for both performance and the mental health of the human being. Stress factors on the pitch (are inevitable and a part of the game): Significantly higher sporting level. Tougher competition from fellow players. A new locker room without a group of friends. High expectations from the buying club, fans, family, friends, agent. A lot of new routines in relation to matchdays and training. Stress factors off the pitch (are just as many but can be handled by support): Many hours alone - not freedom but for many an "enemy". Lack of structure in the new everyday life. Doubts, loneliness, dissatisfaction. “100” practical things to solve. New language and culture. Integration of a partner and children. A lot of people ask me why the club selling a player should invest in player support? Well, the club selling a player will raise their possibility to get their performance bonusses. And if a club has a good track record (their players are successful on the pitch) it will make the club able to ask higher transfer prices in general. Please remember there is a human being behind every athlete🙏

For anyone who hasn’t been to a #Sterling BIG Breakfast or BIG Brunch, you’re probably wondering just WHY so many people love it….so I thought I’d explain, having attended my first one in Worcester in the spring…. Firstly, the only differences between the BIG breakfast and the BIG brunch are the times they are held and the anticipated number of participants (breakfast 6.45am with 100 people whereas brunch is at 10.15am with 50 ) Other than that, the format is the same. Food, chatter, hearing from the sponsors and of course, the reason we all network (other than the occasional poached egg, mmmm) – time to make some connections with facilitated networking. During the two hours of breakfast/brunch, not only do you get to network with your original table (led by a table captain who makes sure everyone gets their chance to speak), everyone will move table – at least a few times – meaning you get to network with a WHOLE NEW selection of businesses. As well as the general “meandering about/free style” networking at the expo itself, the BIG breakfast and brunch give you the opportunity to be guided by the Sterling team – and before you know it, at LEAST 29 other people in the room know you, your business, what you do and how they can help you… The BIG breakfast and BIG brunch are filling up fast at Sterling’s Birmingham event on 26th October at Edgbaston Stadium – the last time I checked with Jenni and Rosemary at HQ, there were 80 bookings and I know there will have been more since. For just £19.99 plus VAT it’s amazing value for what is an exceptional networking opportunity. If you haven’t been before, give it a try – I can guarantee you won’t prove me wrong. Ask anyone...I'm always right, its a known fact 😜 p.s. for anyone wondering, the video is "moving time" - the moment everyone has been given their next table number and has to find where they are sitting next. It's great fun and truly the definitely of EXCEPTIONALLY ORGANISED chaos. #BirminghamNetworking #SterlingNetworking #EdgbastonBirmingham

Still buzzing from our first Fair Advantage panel event. Congrats to Lisa Lie, Founder of Learna - our first Fair Advantage resident. Fair Advantage was created because we at BULLFROG want to see more diverse representation when it comes to business founders. Specifically, we want to see more women-led businesses celebrated, backed and achieving success, within Australia and beyond. The funding landscape for startups is baked with inequality and moving the needle for women is not only the right thing to do, it makes good business sense. Top things I learnt from our brilliant panel speakers: Prisca Ongonga-Daehn - the importance of intersectionality, and being aware that women of colour shoulder an immense responsibility to represent both gender and race successfully in pitch rooms, the pressure is two fold. Yolanda Uys, GAICD - it's crucial that your business problem is something you directly relate to, that’s what will give you energy to keep going when it gets tough, and it will get tough. Laura Henshaw - there’s a ceiling for women founded businesses, VCs fund female founded businesses to a point, but there's a reluctancy to make a bet on women when it comes to large sums of capital, and this limits women from leading big, impactful companies in the country. Kate Dinon - the founder, their story and authenticity is everything, more than a shiny pitch deck, at the end of the day investors want to see how you think. Proud to have created this residency with these amazing brains Lauren Eddy Elle Bullen Daniel Sparkes Matilda Hobba Dalton Henshaw Tiffany Clark Alex Roby Simon Bagnasco Alex Speakman Mark Taylor

I’m really looking forward to working with the team at BULLFROG. They’re a bunch of smart and generous individuals who’ll work with me to support the growth and impact of Learna at a time when it’s ready for it - and I can’t wait to get started. Amazing effort in getting an impactful program like this together Katarina Matic, Tiffany Clark, Matilda Hobba and Dalton Henshaw. https://lnkd.in/gfgzdA3V
