The blessed month of Ramadan is fast approaching with less than a week to go!! Next week you will most likely hear the phrase Ramadan Mubarak or Ramadan Kareem - both of which equate to happy Ramadan! A month celebrated and cherished by many Muslims globally, it is a chance for Muslims to reflect on their positive and negative traits, A chance to build good habits, and a chance to strengthen their religious beliefs. As it is my first Ramadan whilst working, I decided to practice my presentation skills by preparing a small and brief slideshow for my team. To help them understand what Ramadan entails, what I will be going through, and what they can do to help! The best thing you can do as a Muslim colleague or if you work with Muslim colleagues is to communicate. Discuss working times to accommodate the change in sleeping patterns, prayer times, and small frequent breaks to ensure you are taking care of your physical health (especially with no lunch break). If you don’t celebrate Ramadan, try to give it a go! Keep a fast along side your Muslim colleagues and experience what it feels like to fast (it’s not as hard as it seems, I promise 😉) And lastly, no, not even water…

Elevating your personal and professional brand through modern manners, business etiquette, and cross-cultural competence.
During the holy month of Ramadan, it is important to show respect and understanding towards our Muslim friends and colleagues who are observing this sacred time. Here are some etiquette tips to keep in mind during Ramadan: 1. Greet others with "Ramadan Mubarak" or "Ramadan Kareem" as a sign of respect and well wishes for the month. 2. Be mindful of your language and actions, avoiding anything that may be offensive or disrespectful to those fasting. 3. If you are invited to an Iftar (the meal to break the fast), be sure to arrive on time and bring a small gift or dish to share with the host. 4. Refrain from eating or drinking in front of those who are fasting out of respect for their dedication to their faith. 5. Offer support and understanding to those who may be feeling tired or fatigued from fasting and be patient with any changes in their mood or energy levels. By following these simple etiquette guidelines, we can show our respect and support for our Muslim friends and colleagues during this special time of year. Ramadan Mubarak to all who are observing! 🌙

"Ramadan Kareem! Wishing all my LinkedIn connections a blessed month of reflection, fasting, and spiritual growth. May this Ramadan bring you peace, joy, and prosperity. 🌙✨ #ramadankareem #ramadan2024 #RamadanKareem"
From my family to yours, Ramadan Mubarak! ☪️ This holy month is so special for Muslims—it allows us to reconnect with our faith and to spend more time in the company of our families and communities. And this Ramadan, it’s never been more important for all of us to extend the hand of friendship and to build the bridges that unite us, rather than the walls that divide us. I can't wait to join fellow Londoners from all backgrounds for food and conversation at Iftars around the capital this month.

🌙 ✨ Ramadan Mubarak! ✨ 🌙 Did you know? Ramadan is celebrated by Muslims around the world, making it one of the most widely observed religious traditions. With approximately 1.9 billion Muslims worldwide, nearly a quarter of the world's population observes Ramadan. During this holy month, Muslims of all ages and backgrounds come together to fast from dawn to sunset, engage in increased prayers, read the Quran, perform acts of charity, and reflect on their spirituality. The practices and customs of Ramadan may vary across different cultures and regions, but the core essence of devotion, self-discipline, and community spirit remains universal among Muslims worldwide. As Ramadan begins, we want to share some valuable tips for our fellow Small and Medium-sized Businesses to foster an inclusive and respectful environment for all. Let’s make this month a positive experience for everyone: For Your Workplace: ➡ Flexible Hours: Consider offering flexible work schedules to accommodate fasting employees. ➡ Quiet Spaces: Designate a quiet area for prayer breaks to support employees during this special time. ➡ Understanding & Support: Foster a culture of understanding and support among your team. Educate everyone about the significance of Ramadan. ➡ Thoughtful Events: If hosting any events, be mindful of fasting hours and dietary preferences. ➡ Encourage Rest:Acknowledge the physical demands of fasting. Encourage breaks and rest as needed. For Your Customers: ➡ Extended Hours: If feasible, extend your business hours to accommodate customers’ needs during Ramadan. ➡ Respectful Interactions: Use respectful greetings such as “Ramadan Mubarak” or “Ramadan Kareem” when interacting with customers. ➡ Timely Deliveries: For deliveries, ensure prompt and respectful service, especially during Iftar time. Avoid Asking About Fasting: Be mindful not to inquire about the difficulty of fasting, as it can be personal and sensitive. Let’s come together as a community of small businesses to embrace unity and inclusivity this Ramadan season!
