The number one challenge you'll face when trying to engage community members in 2024: (and it's not about crafting compelling content, sparking discussions, or optimizing your community platform) It's sustained engagement. I understand you've set out to boost community interaction this year (and that's truly commendable!) However, consider this: You can't develop a strategy, brainstorm engaging topics, write posts, and schedule them all in a single day – it's quite a task 🤷 You need to lay the groundwork for 2024 today. 👋 Here's a guide to help you get started: → What's your community engagement goal for 2024? → Who plays a key role in achieving that goal (Ideal Community Members)? → What challenges do they encounter regularly? → How can you (and your fantastic community) address those challenges? → Can you present your solutions in an entertaining, educational, inspiring, and promotional manner? And most importantly: → Consider bulk creating community engaging posts and activities ✍️ This is how you'll maintain consistent activity (and witness growth beyond your expectations). I'll be delving into these aspects in my upcoming community strategy sessions. If you're a community leader looking to elevate your engagement, feel free to reach out and schedule a chat about effective community engagement activities. PS. Hello fellow digital marketers and community managers, I want to share a fresh perspective on the role of Community Managers (CMs). When I began my journey as a Community Manager, I believed that offering incentives was the primary way to boost community engagement. However, I've come to realize that the CM's ability to connect with users on an emotional level, empathizing with their feelings, be it joy, sadness, or success, is equally crucial in fostering interactions between users and the brand represented by the CM. The more you touch their lives emotionally, the more significant your brand becomes to them. This means that CMs need to possess emotional intelligence to effectively connect with the community and encourage participation in events. Don't get me wrong; providing incentives has its place, but emotional intelligence and the skill to connect with your community members are fundamental. This fosters mutual understanding and respect, a key component of building a strong bond with the community. In summary, CMs serve as the frontline communicators between customers (community members) and the brand they represent. How CMs handle themselves and navigate various situations greatly influences how the community perceives the brand. Thank you for your time once again. Your favorite CM, Oluwaseyi
