https://lnkd.in/dmHA2MZp In view of the increasing number of hit and run cases in Mumbai and other cities by super rich brats mostly, it's essential to start special simulated driving schools by brands such as Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, and others. Those cars can reach 0 to 100 in seconds and aren't really meant for Indian roads but when the rich kids have money who can stop them from buying those toys. Boys with toys. Boys are toys! The last might be familiar to some people. Anyway, on the lines of Maruti Suzuki Driving Schools we need more simulators for those cars specifically. Before taking the wheels the rich brats need to get certified. Certification should be extremely tough and must be maintained by the car company only. Totally US standards or Dubai standards. That will bring the accidents under control a bit. Drunk driving is a different case. The penalty should be stiff including auctioning the car if it's in good shape. B.E. mechanical students can learn more if the car is given to a college to take it apart. So many lives are regularly lost. This MUST STOP.

We all remember the infamous Pune Porsche case, don't we? The 17-year-old minor, who was accused in the case, initially submitted a 300-word essay as part of his bail conditions. Recently, he completed a 15-day safe driving program covering safety measures, the importance of a driving license, and the meaning of road signals and symbols, as per RTO officials. Now, the accused is entirely free, and the case has gone into silence, as if it never occurred at all. This highlights the influence that power and money can exert on our judicial system. 𝐁𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐲𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐨𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞? Developments on Pune Porsche accident seems straight out of a Bollywood movie such as Jolly LLB or 𝐆𝐚𝐛𝐛𝐚𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤. Blood samples altered, influential MLA interference, blatant police negligence etc. etc. However, unlike Bollywood there is no protagonist here such as Sivaji the boss or Gabbar to amend the hollow & rotten system. In real life, protagonist is everyday people like you, me & many others who raise their voice so much on social media that authorities are forced to take action. It could have been anyone in place of those killed professionals. So choosing to remain silent is the worst thing one can do. This is no single accident, such accidents happen 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 & 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧. If it gets into spotlight, everyone jumps on it which is followed by a long deafening silence. Post that nobody cares about the quest for 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 except the victim’s families & friends. Such stories should be seen to the very end or else the system will remain as it is - 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐝 & 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭. Choice is yours… Let me know your thoughts.

The recent Pune Porsche tragedy, where a 17-year-old driver crashed his luxury car, claiming two lives, has sparked widespread outrage. Shockingly, it has now emerged that the teenager and his friends spent a staggering ₹48,000 in just 90 minutes at a pub before the fatal accident. This revelation has only intensified the demand for justice and accountability. The Pune Police Commissioner, Amitesh Kumar, disclosed that the teen and his friends visited Cosie pub late on Saturday night, where they racked up the exorbitant bill. CCTV footage shows them indulging in alcohol before heading out on the fateful drive. The reckless disregard for safety, coupled with excessive alcohol consumption, highlights the need for stricter regulations and enforcement. It's got nothing to do with opposition. The will is what was needed. It was lacking and lacked by miles. Let us switch to something else. Of late there is talk going on SM of "linking properties with Aadhaar", benaami property (properties earned & illegally registered in others names like drivers, maids, relatives, friends etc & rights exercised through Power of Attorney) holders getting exposed, Govt. taking over benaami properties bla, bla, bla. The wishes of the people have no limits. In fact, people have started day-dreaming. The fact is 90% of the politicians (from both ruling and opposition parties), 60-80% of businessmen and 50% of bureaucrats possess benaami properties in India. The day even news of actions being taken in this direction spills out there will be political turmoil in the Govt. If the Aadhaar linking of properties do happen, it is the common people like you & me who benefit the most. Many people have not been able to take possession of their ancestral properties laid siege by near & dear ones. Some are weak even to claim possession of their hard earned properties. They either lack the moral strength to go to Court or lack the resources for doing so. Hapless people have nothing else to do but sit and day-dream that one day a fakir will enter their life and will completely change it. There's no scope for anything like that happening in India. Nothing like that happened in 10 years & nothing will happen in another 10. So pointing fingers to cover up failures has become a favorite pastime.

Revision of the age old laws in relevance to the present scenario is must.

The Supreme Court has rejected a plea by M/s Hindustan Motors Pvt Ltd that since the vehicle, involved in an accident during the test drive, was sold and delivered to the dealer on a principal to principal to basis, so the driver and the dealer alone would be liable for compensation under the Motor Vehicles Act. A bench of Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra held M/s Hindustan Motors Pvt Ltd and not its dealer as liable to pay compensation for tortious liability for the death caused to its employee. Another tragic BMW accident claims the lives of 2 women. The maximum punishment for such cases is just 2 years. Yes, only 2 years! India’s accident laws are woefully inadequate and need urgent reform. And ofcourse, we also need quicker judicial action. Accidents are usually tried under Section 304A, IPC—a law that is notoriously weak. Sometimes, under media pressure, police might apply Culpable Homicide not amounting to murder (304II), which carries a maximum sentence of 10 years. However, proving 304II in court is nearly impossible, so the case is changed back to 304A. --- The Sanjiv Nanda case was a notable exception, where after many years of trial courts acknowledged 304A was inadequate, and changed it to 304 II. Despite this, Nanda never received the full 10-year sentence. --- High-profile accidents like BMW, Porsche, or even the Bhopal gas tragedy have been prosecuted under 304A, with a maximum punishment of 2-years.
