🚀 ✨ Celebrating a Year of Innovation - Introducing ThrustMe's JPT150 Iodine Hall Thruster! 🚀 ✨ After achieving a historic milestone with the world's first in-orbit demonstration of iodine-fueled electric propulsion systems, its widespread adoption in the market, and the establishment of ThrustMe's batch production, we proudly present the JPT150. This revolutionary propulsion system brings together the efficiency of a Hall thruster with the remarkable advantages of iodine. The JPT150 leverages the power of iodine, building upon the maturity of iodine-compatible subsystems that have proven their readiness at TRL 9 in ThrustMe's flight-proven propulsion products. The innovative design of JPT150 guarantees superior performance in the power range of 150-200 W, elevating the overall efficiency of space missions to unprecedented levels. The first prototype of HET-based propulsion system JPT150 has successfully undergone firing tests with iodine propellant, including both the thruster head and the cathode. This is a crucial step towards a new era in space propulsion technology. 🥂 Cheers to a fantastic year of growth and exciting milestones at ThrustMe! As we advance into the future, we look forward to sharing our next steps towards a sustainable space. #space #propulsion #spacetech #innovation #newtechnology #hightech

Discover Rovial Space's Innovative Thermal Management Solutions! Effective thermal management is crucial for high-power space applications, as temperature control directly impacts spacecraft reliability. Traditional satellites rely on North/South radiators and passive systems like heat pipes or active systems such as mechanical pump loops to manage heat. Our team at Rovial Space has pioneered a groundbreaking solution: inflatable radiators! These radiators leverage the system's gaseous mixture, eliminating the need for traditional heat exchangers. As the gas flows through the radiator, its temperature decreases before re-entering the turbine compartment or pressurized payload module. This advanced system is not only 10 times lighter than standard thermal control solutions but also optimizes radiator volume under the fairing. However, we face a significant challenge: micrometeoroids. These tiny space particles can puncture the radiators, affecting their efficiency. To overcome this, Rovial Space employs autonomous robotic solutions to monitor and repair punctures in real-time. This ensures our radiators maintain optimal performance despite the harsh space environment. Even with the addition of repair robots and extra gas reserves, our inflatable radiators remain significantly lighter and more cost-effective than current industry standards. At Rovial Space, we're dedicated to developing innovative and efficient solutions that push the boundaries of aerospace technology. Stay tuned for more updates on our project progress! In the Collins Aerospace #NextGenSpacesuit, EVAs will no longer be limited by CO2 scrubbing, as it was for many EVAs using our workhorse EMU and metal oxide canisters. We're implementing a cycling sorbent bed that uses the vacuum of space, allowing astronauts to use one chamber while replenishing the capability of another chamber. When the chamber in use is full, a quick switch to a new one, then repeat, means virtually no limit to CO2 scrubbing. Bye-bye Silver Oxide, hello Rapid Cycle Amine. #Spacesuit #Technology #TechnologySolutions #Engineering #EngineeringSolutions #SpaceTechnology

Will be interesting to see if such approaches can be adapted for atmospheric treatment for addressing CO2 build up/CO2 air scrubbing in future #CTPcraft spacecraft as well (from spaceliners, space-platforms, to recon/exploration craft). Advances in space life-support systems are definitely on CTP's radar to come. rapid cycle amine (https://lnkd.in/eUAj7AmS) #newscience #spacetravel #spacelogistics #spacechallenges #spaceliving

Astrobotic and the United States Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Rocket Propulsion Division at Edwards Air Force Base have entered into a Cooperative Research & Development Agreement (CRADA) to enhance both organizations’ capabilities and collaborate in the development of advanced liquid rocket engine, rotating detonation rocket engine (RDRE) technologies, and on-base rocket flight testing capabilities using Astrobotic reusable rockets. “Astrobotic is an industry leader in reusable rocket design, VTVL rocket operations with small teams in austere environments, and innovative testing. This agreement represents a unique partnership that will combine our strengths with AFRL’s subject matter expertise to accelerate development of key capabilities through collaborative design, cutting edge analysis, high-cadence ground experimentation, and relevant environment flight testing,” said Sean Bedford, Astrobotic’s Director of Business Development. Astrobotic will co-locate parts of its Propulsion & Test department with AFRL subject matter experts at Edwards Air Force Base. The CRADA also provides Astrobotic access to facilities on AFRL’s storied “Rocket Ridge” at Edwards AFB, which has hosted development and testing of engines for numerous high profile launch vehicles, including the Space Shuttle and Saturn, Titan, Atlas, Delta, Thor, and Minuteman families of rockets. "We're not 'stuck' - we're just not going anywhere." FUTURE #CTPSPACE #TRAVEL Future #CTPcraft won't need Reaction Control Systems (RCS) or deal with these types of systemic 'leaks' (https://lnkd.in/gWp4zfDt) such as these. All of these fuel values, hoses, thrusters are ALL potential points of failure. Each a liability (safety). In #space - not a good thing to trouble with. One major/minor fuel-line pressure/ pressurization or thruster issue and your entire craft is at risk! Those gimble points via RCS are ALL needed to orient your craft/attitude for reentry trajectory as well. Our future advanced #CTPcraft will NOT require RCS (sub)systems, monitoring systems, installation, thruster pods, thruster hose/lines, valves, fittings, flanges, or the weight or space required that could be dedicated to other ship's systems. THIS KID IS OUT OF HIS MIND! But who's listening to me? I'm just 'some freak with a 'theory'. Some nobody. Whacka-doo-froo-froo guy no one's ever heard of with some deceased obscure mentor thinks he's got the science used by #UFOs/#UAPs or the #nextbigthing. "Let's point fingers and laugh children! This 'Reso' idiot thinks #UFOtech he calls #CTPtech stands a chance to revolutionize the #spaceindustry! Nerve of that guy! And safer space travel to boot than present space capsules? Bah! What nerve!" (https://lnkd.in/e-8e6fAY) #newscience #innovation #futuretech #deeptech
