Today our Chief of Staff and VP Public Affairs Maxime Jambon was representing YEESS - Young European Enterprises Syndicate for Space at the EU Strategic Forum on In-Space Operations and Services - ISOS. This panel discussion hosted by the European Commission on the #legal framework for #ISOS was the occasion to address key regulatory issues surrounding the development of complex in-orbit activities. As much as Exotrail is looking forward to paving the way to next generation activities in space, it remains of upmost importance for the company to be part of the collective efforts to build it in a sustainable way. With our YEESS peers, we are committed to support the definition of the best regulation: one that sets the right principles to foster #innovation and ensures #security to the services providers, our customers, and the overall space actors surrounding. #EUSpaceResearch Learn more about YEESS here 👉 https://www.yeess.eu/

Individual countries play a crucial role in regulating space activities, each establishing their own regulatory frameworks to oversee these operations. This includes authorizing, supervising, and ensuring compliance with international obligations. The pace of regulation, however, often lags behind the rapid advancement of space activities, leading to a reliance on guidelines and governance as interim measures.

The #space sector in the #EU is changing ...and #foreign #investments are at the center of the storm. One thing is clear: allowing the boundless flow of foreign capital in space #companies raises too many #security #concerns. Thus, Europe must decide: what is the way forward? #Protectionism or #openness? The answer depends on the #regulatory choices that are taken today. In the new number of #EULawLive (edited by the expert hands of Prof. Aldo Sandulli) you can find more on this. Other than the current legal issues of investing in space, this #WeekendEdition shines a light on all the aspects of the developing legal framework for space operations in the EU, starting from the #EuropeanSpaceRegulation. The contents include contributions from Ezio Villa, Marco Ferrazzani, Jana Robinson, Elisabetta Tatì, Jakub Handrlica and myself.
