The 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐀𝐅𝐃𝐈𝐁) 🔋has been officially launched in Paris, two weeks ago. ✨ Representing producers and distributors of industrial and starter batteries, AFDIB has set itself the mission of being the voice of the battery ecosystem in France, in particular, to steer dialogue with public authorities at a time when new regulatory obligations, notably linked to the entry into force of EU regulation 2023/1542 on batteries and battery waste, will impose major compliance efforts on all players in the value chain. AFDIB members will be able to actively contribute to the structuring of the French battery industry and take part in defining its positions. It brings together major industrial players in France and is chaired by Serge Arbes, Senior Business Director Global Energy Solutions at Exide Technologies. We are proud to be among the founding members of the new 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧ç𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐞 𝐥’𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐝𝐞 𝐥𝐚 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞 (𝐀𝐅𝐃𝐈𝐁). Here’s to a successful future for a growing organization.🌟🎉 For more information on the AFDIB please send an 📧 email to: [email protected] or take a look at 🌐https://afdib.fr/ #exide #exidetechnologies #exidegroup #batteryindustry #cooperation #futureofenergy #energizinganewworld

Government policies and legislation can provide a critical boost to the development of new clean energy technologies, but the goal should be to have a free, market-driven economy that drives innovation in the global energy transition, Alfred Stern, CEO of OMV, said at ADIPEC. “Probably the most talked about [policy in the subsidy landscape] is the IRA in the US, which provides for fantastic opportunities to launch new technologies, business models and new ways of working, in order to improve the return on those projects…[but we] all do not want to live in a subsidy economy. The free market economy is what is providing us with the life we have today. Eventually, this needs to come to a free market economy-driven transformation. That is why we invest in innovation and technology,” he said. #ADIPEC #EnergyTransition #Decarbonisation

Clean energy-tech company Aira has successfully secured €200 million in debt commitments from BNP Paribas to facilitate the installation of Aira Heat Pumps in thousands of homes across Germany. Transforming #residential heating will require substantial financial investments, to develop and install the #technology and to make it more accessible and affordable. This facility, secured in Aira’s inaugural year, marks the beginning of its ambition to bridge this financial gap. Martin Lewerth, Aira Group CEO, notes: “With substantial debt financing facilities from partners like BNP Paribas, we are set to remove one huge barrier to heat pump adoption and turbocharge our rollout across Europe. This securitisation marks the first step in Aira’s consumer financing journey and represents a major leap towards moving Europe off fossil fuel-based boilers.” #BNPP4clients #heatpumps #energy Eirik Winter Tomas J. As a member of the Global Gateway Business Advisory Group, we have been discussing the developments of the Global Gateway toolbox with the European Commission and other industry participants over the past months. But what exactly does this mean for markets and countries? At the recent Germany Trade & Invest webinar, our Policy and Regulation Manager Erhan Erdogan discussed just that with his fellow panelists! In developing sectors, such as the hydrogen economy, the implementation of projects depends heavily on economic factors, but not only. Often bilateral agreements between countries or energy partnerships can guide market participants by aligning policies, regulations and reducing trade barriers. To facilitate this, we expect a diverse toolbox of support possibilities from the Global Gateway initiative, like the establishment of international partnerships, simplified access to European instruments/funding, strategic orientation and the creation of a resilient market environment that enables investments. We also believe that cooperation with strategic regions is important, such as the MENA region, which is currently receiving little attention. The Global Gateway Initiative in general has a lot of potential as it aims to provide both financial and regulatory support to industries such as the hydrogen industry. We look forward to contributing to the further development of the initiative and communicating the needs of the private sector. We support the establishment of a “one-stop-shop”, the creation of new financing tools targeting innovative technologies and transparency on provided support measures. Thanks to Wilhelm Emmrich, Lisa Flatten and Björn Schildberg for the productive and enjoyable exchange! #LOHC #hydrogen #energytransition
