Corrosion of an oil water separator at an operating locomotive service building resulted in the release of LNAPL into the subsurface. ORIN successfully treated soil and groundwater utilizing a combination of in-situ chemical oxidation and vacuum extraction. Nine injection points were advanced to an injection interval of 15 to 10 ft bgs using Geoprobe direct push technology with each point receiving an average of 50 gallons of treatment chemistry. Four points received an additional 25 gallons each for a total of 550 gallons. Three nearby wells were used as extraction wells to allow for hydraulic control of groundwater to assist with the distribution of the remedial chemistry and to remove free product and highly contaminated groundwater. A VAC truck was present to vacuum extract from the extraction wells during all injection activities. Approximately 1,300 gallons was extracted during the pilot test. #PFAS #Soil #Water #Groundwater #Innovation #Bioremediation #Remediation #Engineering #Utilities #Infrastructure

𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁-𝗨𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗦𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 Another great project ended with the finalizing of the commissioning phase of a 𝘀𝗼𝗶𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 in Western Europe. The heart of this project was the integration of some of AKW Equipment Process Design`s most advanced equipment: • Hydrocyclones AKA-VORTEX in their TWIN version, for the most precise and sharpest separation efficiency • Linear Distributor AKA-SPIDER to ensure an optimal feed distribution to the hydrocyclones • High-Efficiency Attrition Cells AKA-TRIT to maximize the material surface cleaning • Spirals AKA-SPIN for efficient gravimetric separation With the integration of our equipment, a higher volume of various 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗶𝗹𝘀 and 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘀 can be processed and valorized by our customer, contributing to the lowering of his carbon footprint while enabling the development of new market outlets. #WetTreatmentAtItsBest #SoilWashing #Environmental

Contaminated groundwater can often be treated in-situ by injecting remediation reagents directly into the subsurface. This is an option for both organic and inorganic contaminants, and a number of reagents are available which promote contaminant degradation via chemical or microbiological means. Successful in-situ remediation requires the right type, volume and distribution of reagents through the subsurface to ensure both contact and residence time between the reagent and the contaminant. In-situ injection can be particularly well suited to situations when the contamination is difficult to reach, for instance it can sometimes be used to treat contaminant plumes beneath buildings! As well as employing highly experienced staff and holding the relevant permits, ERS has specialist equipment, including drilling rigs, pumps, mixing vessels, to undertake in-situ groundwater remediation in a cost-effective manner. #remediation #contamiantedland #brownfieldland #groundwater #insituinjection #chemicalremediation #bioremediation

Devoted to Delivering Top-Quality, Cost-Effective Chemical Additive Solutions for Oilfield Stimulation, Drilling, Completion, and Production Operations.
Oilfield Chemistry Knowledge Part 4 👩🎓 There are 3 types of friction reducers we use in hydraulic fracturing: emulsion, slurry, and dry. Emulsion is typically the most expensive, followed by slurry, while dry is the most cost-effective. Despite this, many operators and service companies choose liquid FR due to several challenges with dry FR: 1. Requires specialized Dry On The Fly equipment, which is not commonly available. 2. High initial investment costs. 3. Operational complexity and need for specific training. 4. Logistical challenges in handling and transportation. Even with these challenges, the dry option is still worth acquiring, and I believe it represents the future of hydraulic fracturing. Did you know that using dry FR has another advantage? Can you guess what it is? Share your thoughts in the comments, and I’ll reveal the answer in my next post! #HydraulicFracturing #FrictionReducers #OilAndGas #EnergyInnovation #epamFrictionReducers #DRYFrictionReducers #SlurryFrictionReducers #dryonthefly

SARA testing is one of many different material characterization tests we perform - as mentioned, the more you KNOW, the easier everything else will then become. TS is here to provide CLARITY on the UNKOWNS, and provide a streamlined path forward in tank treatment, allowing for overall project success! SCOPE. PLAN. SAVE. www.tankscope.com - 1.888.417.0155
TankScope provides in depth analysis of the tank bottom composition(s) on a multitude of levels - here's an example on one of them: SARA Analysis - this is performed to determine the Saturate, Aromatic, Resin and Asphaltene (SARA) fractions within the tank bottoms. This is vital in determining the next steps for the development in scope: Some examples of data quantification for tank treatment: 1). Introducing a cutter stock to suspend the tank bottoms. 2). Circulating the existing product within the tank. 3). Pumping down the tank for chemical injection /treatment. KNOWING how to treat the product within the tank with the correct methodology the first time will significantly minimize project overruns, change in scope, schedule delays, as well as offering potential in significant OPEX savings!
