I'm pleased to be giving a verbal update on the work of the Solar Taskforce. The report was caught by purdah before the election and the final version was never released, so I'll be running through the key themes that were discussed by the various groups of industry professionals. Our new Government has great aspirations for this low cost, reliable and known technology. They are interested in our work and we hope to meet to conclude recommendations to all stakeholders. Renewable energy sources will form a key part of our energy mix in the UK. We will all be touched by this transition. As I can not forecast the content of the final report, my talk will focus on the challenges and the opportunities that will affect us all. I look forward to meeting you on the 9th August!
