Uniforce Panama, Air Sea Worldwide LATAM contributes to Forum: Women in Logistics. On May 21st, several staff members including ELISA DENIS and RITA HUERTAS from ASW Panama participated in in this forum organized by the Freight Forwarder Association of Panama. Influential women participated in this forum including Customs Authorities, Panama Canal, Shipping Lines and Freight Forwarders. Important topics such as “The future of Women in Logistics”, “Opportunities and Threats”, “Capabilities and Studies for Women in Logistics”, among others were discussed. #womeninlogistics #globallogistics #freightforwarding

Shining a spotlight on women in the supply chain. We took this picture at our annual Branch Manager's conference last week. We'd been having a great night celebrating the success of branches and people around our business. What a fabulous pic! It's special capturing this moment together with women in leadership from around Mainfreight Europe; pictured are women from eight different countries. They are hard working, creative, strong, passionate people who inspire those around them and help make Mainfreight such a great place to be. Representation matters, and whether they're aware of it or not, they are influencing and inspiring women at Mainfreight and in the supply chain to take their careers to the next level. I'd like to see even more women in this photo next year and every single year. It's no easy feat and it's up to all of us to make this happen. Not pretending we have all the answers, we don't. These last 12 months we've made some steps globally including: 1. Improving maternity leave to be a minimum 6 months paid and 6 months childcare support in every country we're in 2. Appointment of two more women to the Board of Directors, Annie Steel and Hayley Buckley on 1st March, meaning by July we'll have 50/50 women and men at the Board table Thinking a bit more locally about what we all can do that from experience I've seen work in practice: 1. Help women build confidence by helping them identify and recognise their strengths and impact 2. Actively mentor them 3. Encourage them to put their hand up and 'challenge' them if they don't Happy Women's Day! In an industry historically dominated by men, the maritime logistics sector has taken significant steps to acknowledge and empower women. Since its inception in 2018, the DCN - Daily Cargo News Women in Shipping & Maritime Logistics Award has stood as a testament to these efforts, recognising exceptional women who are driving change and progress in the field. Fact. Our analysis of women who have completed our Women on Wheels program and placed for truck driving opportunities demonstrates that, on average, women appear to be safer drivers. Fact. From this analysis, there's reason to believe that female driving habits can contribute to improved fuel consumption, less maintenance, and wear and tear, saving expenditures in the long run. Fact. We have been collaborating with our partners Isuzu East Africa and logistics partners to train and put more female truck drivers on the road. Investing in uniforms designed for women, finding ways to bring flexibility into workforce planning, preparing your existing workforce for the introduction of female participants... These are a few of the practical steps employers can take to #InspireInclusion and encourage more women to enter the transport and logistics industry. This International Women’s Day, the United Nations calls us to invest in women to accelerate progress. To explore this theme, we caught up with Qube multi-combination driver and women in trucking advocate, Lyndal Denny, to ask what employers can do to attract more women to the industry, and to make the women who work in the industry feel more included. Lyndal has driven heavy vehicles for Qube for 10 years and is also the CEO of Women in Trucking Australia, an organisation helping women realise their truck-driving ambitions by linking them with employers. She challenges transport employers to take on more female drivers. And with less than 3 percent of the truck driving workforce identifying as female, there is much room to move. #InternationalWomensDay #InvestinWomen
