This is worth a 1-minute watch, $5 going straight to saving the kids... 5 kids saved in the blink of an eye - great! The problem with this really funny scene? If 100% of donations go towards the beneficiaries (saving 5 kids), who pays for the 3 staff salaries in this scene? Or the fuel of the vehicle? The Op-Ex (running cost/overhead/admin) constraints that many charities/non-profits are working under is crippling - leading to burnout, high staff turnover and organizations that struggle to get by. Their Vision Every school-aged child in America has the nourishment needed to learn and grow. As a leader in the movement to end childhood hunger, Blessings in a Backpack strives to ensure children do not go hungry on the weekends by empowering individuals and communities to take action. Why Do They Do It Did you know that 9 MILLION CHILDREN* are experiencing food insecurity? That’s one in eight American children who may be struggling with access to food. The consequences of hunger are much more than a growling stomach. Poor nutrition can result in a weaker immune system, increased hospitalization, lower IQ, shorter attention spans, and lower academic achievement. Children are fed during the school week by federal government programs. They want to make sure they’re getting nutritional meals over the weekend, too. Blessings in a Backpack is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. During the 2022–2023 school year, they distributed more than 3.3 million bags of ready-to-eat food to children at 1,270 schools in 46 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. Today at https://www.vce-kenya.org/ we are talking about the difference between reunification and reintegration among our social service workforce! Reunification is the process of physically placing a child back into a family environment. Reintegration is more than just that point of physical movement of a child from one place to another. Reintegration is a process of a separated child making what is anticipated to be a permanent transition back to his or her immediate or extended family and community (usually of origin), to receive protection and care and to find a sense of belonging and purpose in all spheres of life. Working towards reintegration as the end goal of a case management process requires that each step is designed holistically and individually as part of a larger process. Reintegration takes time. 

Did you know that we have a team of practitioners that volunteer their time and services to offer differently abled children and adults Body Stress Release? In the words of our BSR Outreach Founder, Sure Tredoux: "Working on the various Outreaches fills my soul. It's part of my life purpose to help grow our BSR Outreach programme. BSR helps ones body to function optimally. Surely that should be available for all humans, regardless of their circumstances." Supporting recovery meetings is essential, yet it's easy to forget the contributions needed to sustain them. Often, we rely on the generosity of others without realizing the true cost.
