📜 🚗 And we are now sharing another #EV4EU Paper published in the journal Energies MDPI: "Forecasting Electric Vehicles’ Charging Behavior at Charging Stations: A Data Science-Based Approach"! Congratulations to our INESC-ID researcher Herbert Amezquita Ortiz and paper co-authors by Cindy P. Guzman and Hugo Morais who were also supported by the Interactive Technologies Institute 👏 🔎 In this study, the team has deeply analyzed the charging behavior of electric vehicles (#EVs) and developed a novel methodology to assess EVs’ plugged-in status and power consumption at charging stations (CSs)! These findings will contribute to enhance operational efficiency and planning in #EV infrastructure 💪 🔗 Check out the full paper here: https://lnkd.in/dB62tMtE #EV4EU #ElectricVehicles #DataScience #Forecasting #Research #Innovation #Sustainability

🚗🔋 Exciting News! 🔋🚗 I'm thrilled to share that my latest research paper, "Forecasting Electric Vehicles’ Charging Behavior at Charging Stations: A Data Science-Based Approach" has been published in Energies MDPI journal. 🔍 In this study, we delve into the charging behavior of electric vehicles (EVs) and develop a novel methodology for day-ahead forecasting of EVs’ plugged-in status and power consumption at charging stations (CSs). We evaluate diverse machine learning algorithms in a real-world case study, demonstrating the high accuracy of gradient boosting methods in predicting EVs’ charging behavior. Our findings highlight the framework's potential to enhance operational efficiency and planning in EV infrastructure. 🔗 Check out the full paper here: https://lnkd.in/dB62tMtE A big thank you to the co-authors Cindy P. Guzman and Hugo Morais, your contributions and insights were invaluable. And to EV4EU and Interactive Technologies Institute who supported this work. #EV4EU #ElectricVehicles #DataScience #Forecasting #Research #Innovation #Sustainability
