Delighted to announce the publication of our commentary on the recent and significant WTO dispute between the United States and Hong Kong (DS597 "United States—Origin Marking Requirement") in the American Journal of International Law, Volume 117 - Issue 3. Excitingly, the article is available for free access. You can access our work at this link: https://lnkd.in/eW2AqsAU Our study delves into the legal and geopolitical implications of this case, exploring the increasingly complex interface between national security, human rights, and the multilateral trade system. It underlines the growing relevance of security exceptions in WTO law and the challenges they present in the evolving multipolar world order. We delve into the broader implications of this dispute for geoeconomics, proxy trade wars, and the future of the WTO. I am particularly grateful to my remarkable co-author, Kehinde Olaoye, a rising star in the field of international economic law, whose insights and rigorous analysis were pivotal to this research.
