📢 Marine biodiversity scientists, we need you 📢 👉 Through MARCO-BOLO, EMBRC has joined the Horizon Europe Project Cluster "Restore & Protect" By bringing together representatives from Horizon Europe projects exploring marine biodiversity challenges, this cluster aims to maximise the impact of these projects by finding synergies between them, facilitating knowledge sharing and streamline exchanges with other organisations and policy-makers. 🔵 As part of the project, we’re happy to share this survey which asks experts to rank the most pressing challenges for marine biodiversity at the science-policy-interface👇 ➡️Science-based decision-making is vital in protecting and restoring ocean health ➡️ Marco Bolo aims to support better decision-making by strengthening marine biodiversity observation ➡️ By generating tailored data, the project allows researchers to deliver practical tools to measure and predict biodiversity health ➡️ This information enables politicians and industries to proactively manage biodiversity through environmental policy ➡️ Through Marco Bolo and other projects, EMBRC works with our partners and stakeholders to enable this science-policy dialogue. The input of the scientific community is really important in making effective policy changes so we strongly encourage those working with biodiversity to complete the survey. 🔗 Please fill out the survey here: https://lnkd.in/eT-zAmKT 🙏 Thank you! #OceanObservation #ScienceBasedDecisionMaking #GreenPolicy #BlueEconomy #MarineBiodiversity BioAgora Project B-USEFUL Josie Antonucci di Carvalho Ute Jacob Davide Di Cioccio Alice Soccodato Paulina Marcela Ramírez Quevedo Mathilde Vidal Frank Muller-Karger Christina Pavloudi Melanthia Stavroulaki eDNAqua-Plan

[Challenge] Count species, check water quality; anyone who enjoys discovering and studying nature in their own environment can join the 2024 Biodiversity Challenge! It starts on 2 May, and it lasts for no less than two months, ending 28 June. Read all about the challenge and find the list of activities here; https://lnkd.in/e3Df-eyy See you there! #biodiversity #wurchallenges #wur #challenge
🐝🔍 Soon, the third edition of the Biodiversity Challenge will start! From wasp excursions and bird tours, to canoeing on the city canals: together we explore nature, count species and experience how important it is to protect biodiversity. Bram de Vos, director of the Environmental Sciences Group, is excited already: "I think it is a very good initiative to do the #BiodiversityChallenge on the WUR campus, and also in the city of Wageningen. For me, it is not just about discovering and counting species, but about realising the value of nature and biodiversity as the basis of our existence. It's fun to discover in a playful way what I don't know." Last year, over 1300 species were found, including some surprising finds! From the 2nd of May up until the 28th of June, you can join in the challenge, and explore all the life that Wageningen has to offer. Will we see you there?
