To celebrate this partnership and before the spotlight shifts to the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, we hosted an inspiring event for our colleagues. During the presentation,ย Olek Kazimirowskiย andย Guillaume Gobert, from theย Belgian Paralympic Committee - Paralympic Team Belgium, drew parallels between sports and other life challenges. The highlight was a personal testimonial by our colleaguesย Bruno Vanhove, a former Paralympic athlete, and his managerย Tom Debruyckere. Through their testimonial, they shared their experiences and challenges, and more importantly how they overcame them, together with the support of otherย Euroclearย colleagues.ย This proves again that everyone can contribute to a more inclusive workplace. At #Euroclear, we prioritise capabilities and unlocking talent rather than focusing on what you cannot do. We are passionate about creating opportunities for everyone, to thrive and develop their talents to the fullest. This partnership exemplifies what can be achieved when we emphasise talent over perceived limitations. As Daniel Miseur (Chief People & Communication Officer, Euroclear) emphasised during the presentation, โParalympic athletes not only exhibit courage and resilience but also teach us that an accessible environment helps to unlock our potential to the fullest. Together, we will continue to build that environment!" Learn more about Our Responsibility:ย ๐น https://lnkd.in/es8jnbnh #Paris2024 #Paralympics #TeamBelgium

Firsts move the world forward. They help make the inconceivable achievable and pave the way for others to follow. It took decades for the first runner to break the 4-minute mile, then 16 runners achieved it within the next year. Sarah Attar ran alone for the last 32s of her race at the London 2012, but as Saudi Arabiaโs first ever female Olympic runner, she set a precedent for thousands of female athletes to follow. As the Worldwide Management Consulting Partner of the IOC, weโre using our global scale, deep insights, and understanding of innovation to track the impact of firsts at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. DO YOU KNOW? The Olympic flag, bearing the now iconic symbol of five interlocking rings, was first flown in Olympic Games in 1920 during the Antwerp Games in Belgium. The rings represent the five inhabited continents of the worldโAfrica, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceaniaโand are set on a white background, symbolizing peace and unity. The colors of the ringsโblue, yellow, black, green, and redโwere chosen because at least one of them appears on the flag of every nation. This flag was designed by Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympic Games, and it aimed to express the global reach of the Olympic movement, promoting the idea of universality among all participating nations. Over the years, the Olympic flag has taken on deep symbolic significance, embodying the values and aspirations of the Olympic charter. When athletes from countries without a national flag or currently under sanctions compete, they do so under the Olympic flag as independent athletes, highlighting its role as a unifier. The flag's presence in every Olympic stadium since 1920 serves as a constant reminder of the sport's ability to bridge diverse cultures and foster a spirit of global fellowship. This enduring symbol continues to inspire athletes and spectators alike, reinforcing the ideals of fairness, ambition, and global cooperation at the heart of the Olympic ethos. 99 DAYS TO GOโฆ or 99 LUFTBALLONS? Iโll dance to Nena any day like nobodyโs watching. So, ACHTUNGโฆBABY! But really, even 999 of those colorful thingies floating, rattling and humming across Zooropa would HOLD NOTHING next to: 5 rings, 17 days, 329 sport events, 10,500 athletes from 206 Nations, 15 million cheering fans, Billions watching from any corner with a TV, YouTube, or Tik Tok. #PickYourTech โฆ And 73 refugees competing on behalf of the purest form of the human spirit. These ingredients will mean everything- and nothing- once THE FLAME glows over Paris as we witness the latest edition of a most universal encounter. This will be everything but a โCheap Trickโ. Before wokey naysayers (rarest breed in the wonderfully enigmatic country that is France ๐) move to โcancelโ it with accusations of being an โegregious show of financial wasteโ, warn of logistical chaos & mayhem, or throw shade on it as โrich-country hubris only fit for geopolitical size queensโ, letโs consider the potential of the PARIS 2024 OLYMPIC GAMES to: โข Inspire an entire new generation born this side of Y2K, โขCreate opportunities for athletes, small businesses and communities in France, and โข Leave a positive, lasting mark on humanityโs collective consciousness. What a veritable obligation for PEOPLE and BRANDS involved to honor this opportunity by doing our jobs while staying true to the Olympic Games founding principles of Excellence, Respect, and Amity. And with the humility to contribute to and believe in something greater than ourselves. What a blessing and joyโฆ and I havenโt even gotten started on the Paralympics! #ComingSoon Summer Is Coming.
