Today for #NationalBestFriendDay, we want to celebrate all of our #workbesties for being there for us each day! Studies by Gallup have shown that having a best friend at work is highly beneficial for both employees and employers. Employees who have a best friend at work are significantly more likely to: → Engage customers and internal partners → Get more done in less time → Support a safe workplace with fewer accidents and reliability concerns → Innovate and share ideas → Have fun while at work In addition, BetterUp found that those who feel connected to their colleagues at work experience 91% greater personal growth and 101% greater professional growth. Though there have been fewer opportunities to create and build connections at work in recent post-pandemic years, Bill Sebra, in a recent Korn Ferry article, says that the decline in work friendships is an important but overlooked trend that could have significant financial and talent repercussions for companies. So, tag your #workbestie and share your gratitude for having someone you can lean on! Further reading: https://bit.ly/3XHbKbS https://bit.ly/3x3ZdaW #EQOffice #EmployeeEngagement #WorkHardHaveFun

🌟 Embracing the Power of Work Friendships: A Key to Workplace Happiness 🤝 It might not be a huge surprise to you to find out that we spend a significant portion of our lives at work. As a lawyer, I can 100% testify to that! 😞 However work is also where many of us are likely to develop our most meaningful friendships. Yet, surprisingly, social well-being is often the least invested aspect by companies aiming to enhance employee happiness. A Gallup survey of CHROs from major companies worldwide reveals a startling fact: only 30% of employees strongly agree that they have a best friend at work.🔍 Research by the University of Pennsylvania and University of Minnesota underscores the importance of these relationships. They found that close work friendships not only boost productivity but also enhance commitment, communication, and mutual encouragement among colleagues. 📈 The benefits? Increased productivity, profitability, job satisfaction, and employee retention. And there's more – Gallup's latest research indicates that since the pandemic's onset, having a best friend at work significantly influences key outcomes like workplace recommendations, intent to stay, and overall job satisfaction. 🌐 How do we foster these connections in a remote world? It's simple: engage more in direct conversations and less in emails. In our digital era, even virtual meetups via Zoom or FaceTime can significantly foster these connections. Additionally, introducing cross-training and job rotation allows employees to interact with various teams, expanding their social circles. Social events and team lunches can further enhance bonding. These initiatives collectively create a more connected, engaging, and friendly workplace environment Through my career journey, I've formed incredible friendships at work, met my spouse, and now, I cherish my team not just as colleagues but as friends. Their support and camaraderie are invaluable. I just don't know where I would be without them and we make each other laugh! 😄 🚀 Given the time we spend at work, it's so important to think about the people we spend our days with and the relationships we nurture along the way. #WorkplaceWellbeing #FriendshipAtWork #TeamBuilding #EmployeeHappiness #WorkplaceCulture #Growth Sian Baumann Nicky Kendrick Ashley Biss Belinda Sullivan Sarah Taylor Andrew Wingfield Farringford Legal Jessica Rivett Leigh O'Grady Barnaby Gowrie Nicola Newbegin Carl Schaffer Jon Pham

I help solve DISCONNECTION in the workplace by designing joyful TEAM BUILDING experiences 💥-- Corporate workshops, flash mobs and more.
Do you have a best friend at work❓ It’s one of the greatest indicators of workplace happiness❗️ ___ As an experience designer - my work with the loneliness epidemic has me thinking about human connection remedies constantly and it’s what drives my business with JoymobEvents to design shared experiences. ___ ⏰ The average person spends 81,000 hours at work, which is equivalent to nine full years. We are now more likely to make friends at work, then school, neighborhood or worship. Yet, only 3 in 10 employees strongly agree they have a best friend at work. 🔷 BUT WHY SHOULD EMPLOYERS CARE? Well, Gallup’s data shows that having a best friend at work is strongly linked to business outcomes, including improvements in profitability, safety, inventory control, and employee retention. 🔶 HOW CAN WE REDUCE THE LONELINESS EPIDEMIC AT WORK? 🔸Establish a buddy system Teaming up new employees with senior employees not only for business knowledge, but also to introduce them to others in the company - this is needed especially in a remote workforce environment. 🔸Increase FaceTime Encouraging Cross-training, so they can collaborate with other people within the company. Perhaps you work in the same city and can meet up in person. Plan social events like grabbing lunch with one or more of your colleagues. 🔸Jam Constantly If you’ve ever been part of a collaborative “jam session,” you know the feeling. When best friends work together, they get more done in less time, create safer work environments, innovate and share more ideas in culture of abundance rather than scarcity. 🔆PERSONAL CONCLUSION ✅As an employer - strive to model a situation in which everyone has a best friend or buddy system at work. ✅As an employee - If the system isn’t set up for this, reach out to a colleague and invite them to lunch 🥗 virtual or in-person. Small steps lead to big actions.

Employees with a best friend at work are... 📣 2x more likely to recommend their organization as a great place to work. 😍 2x more satisfied with their place of employment. 🛑 12% less likely to leave their employer. According to new research from Gallup, "Having a best friend at work has become more important since the start of the pandemic, even considering the dramatic increase in remote and hybrid work." Yet, only 2 in 10 employees report having a best friend at work. With such a gap b/w the lack of connection at work and the clear benefits of having more connection, this is what drives my work on team connection. Specifically at Rivet, we are unweirding and shrinking the time it takes to find a best friend at work. We are using the neuroscience of compatibility to connect colleagues who are scientifically proven to build a strong best-friend bond. Let's build stronger teams together! 💪 Reach out if we can help your team. #teambuilding #teamwork #isolation #remotework #loneliness

Nurturing Trust in Workplace Relationships: Strategies for Success"" In today's dynamic work environments, fostering trust among colleagues is paramount for achieving collective goals and maintaining a positive workplace culture. Here are some effective strategies to cultivate trust in your professional relationships: Embrace Self-Understanding: Before embarking on building new workplace relationships, take time to introspect and understand your strengths and weaknesses. Self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and honed social skills form the foundation for fostering trust with your peers. Allocate Time for Connection: Building meaningful connections requires intentional effort. Schedule dedicated time during your workday for interactions with colleagues, whether it's during lunch breaks, the initial moments of your work shift, or through organized team events after hours. Listen Actively and Inquire: Engage in active listening and ask thoughtful questions to demonstrate genuine interest in your coworkers. By understanding their personal and professional aspirations, you can forge deeper connections and foster a culture of open communication. Extend a Helping Hand: Offering assistance to colleagues in need not only strengthens bonds but also establishes you as a dependable team player. Whether it's lending a helping hand with a challenging project or providing support during overwhelming situations, acts of kindness foster trust and camaraderie. Know When to Seek Support: Don't hesitate to seek assistance when needed, as it not only facilitates collaboration but also presents opportunities to build rapport with coworkers. Reciprocity plays a pivotal role in nurturing trust, so be proactive in both offering and requesting support. Express Appreciation and Understanding: Acknowledge the contributions of your colleagues and demonstrate empathy towards their challenges. By recognizing the unique roles and responsibilities of each team member, you foster a culture of appreciation and mutual respect. Stay Committed to Your Word: Upholding commitments is essential for building trust and reliability in professional relationships. Ensure that you fulfill your promises and obligations promptly, as consistency in actions reinforces trustworthiness. Embrace Present-Mindedness: Avoid distractions and be fully present in workplace interactions. By demonstrating attentiveness and engagement, you create meaningful connections and lay the groundwork for enduring trust among colleagues. By implementing these strategies, you can cultivate an environment where trust thrives, fostering stronger workplace relationships and driving collective success.
