👩🏼🔬 #GRI3D FEATURE | SUN bioscience’s microwell technology is unleashing efficiency and precision! SUN bioscience is elevating organoid research through its #Gri3D technology. Our 96 well-plate showcases 2 unique #features: 1) Multiple hydrogel-based U-bottom-shaped microcavities in each well, effortlessly increasing the #throughput. 2) A pipetting port, situated on the side of each well, allowing for safe and easy media exchange without microtissue loss. 🧪 The resulting microtissues are #uniform in size and precisely located in predefined positions, the cell-repellent #hydrogel microwells, where they float. While displaying homogeneous size, they maintain their inherent heterogeneity in shape. We offer the possibility to test #Gri3D with our sample plate format – send us an email, receive your sample, seed your cells, add your media, and let #biology do the rest! 📩 Contact us at [email protected] or visit our website (https://sunbioscience.com/) to learn more! #Gri3D #highthroughput #imagingpower #3Dcellculture #solvingchallenges

I am thrilled to present my latest work entitled, " A General Charge Transfer Assembly Driven Photoactivation Platform of Diaryliodonium Reagents: Arylation of Heterocycles" at #RSCPoster conference. Here, we have developed an economical and effective transition-metal-free photoinduced method to generate aryl radicals, which involves the formation of a tetrameric charge transfer assembly (CTA) between DAIRs, NaI, PPh3, and TMEDA. Under mild and sustainable reaction condition, our photoinduced electron donor-acceptor (EDA) approach enables arylation of a plethora of nitrogen and oxygen containing aromatic and non-aromatic heterocycles. This success translates into the generation of arylated heterocyclic scaffolds with therapeutic potential, showcasing the practical utility of our methodology in the modification of drugs. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thank You #RSCPoster #RSCPosterPitch #RSCOrg #RSCPoster2024 #sustainability #Organicsynthesis #photoredox

🔎 Automation of 18F-labelled branched chain amino acids synthesis 🔎 The relatively long half-life of fluorine-18 (110 mins) and its favourable decay profile (97% positron emission) make 18F-labelled compounds attractive radiotracers for use in positron emission tomography (PET), a medical imaging technique. The development of new 18F-labelled molecules is crucial in order to be able to expand the use of PET as a diagnostic tool for different disease areas. Working with radiolabelled compounds presents extra challenges due to the potential exposure to radiation throughout the process. In this manuscript, Schaffer, Britton and coworkers report the design and implementation of an automated flow module for the 18F-fluorination of branched-chain aliphatic amino acids. By automating this flow procedure, the authors were able to achieve higher molar activity, enhanced reproducibility, and reduced radiation exposure, exemplified by the radiosynthesis of 5-[18F]FHL – obtained with a radiochemical yield of 20.1 ± 4.8% (n = 3), a radiochemical purity of 94.5 ± 4.9% (n = 3), and a synthesis time of ~75 min. Skeletal editing is definitely a hot topic. Phenyl to pyridyl editing methodologies have been recently disclosed by the Burns, Levin or Xu groups (among others). Yet I find the conversion of pyridyl to phenyl even more exciting as pyridines are often a convenient handle to activate and functionalize aromatic rings (SNAr, Minisci, Chichibabin, etc...). Here are two different studies that address the same issue: one by Sorensen and coworkers relies on pyridine oxides (https://lnkd.in/ebJkSwVY) and the second one by Studer and coworkers (https://lnkd.in/eFBZZFCD). Certainly useful tools for late stage functionalization
