This month we’re excited to shine the employee spotlight on Victor Tso, a software engineer at Inclined. Victor got his start at Guidewire, where he met Inclined co-founder and CTO Mark Shaw. It was there that he says he learned some of his best professional habits as he helped grow a company from a team of 180 to over 1,000. “So many things want to break when you grow that fast, and it’s there I learned to keep a pulse on that,” he said. When he’s not focused on work, Victor spends time with his wife and son gardening and being active outside. 💡Tell us about why you joined Inclined Mark had a very positive impact on my early career, so when I learned about the work he was doing at Inclined I was intrigued. The founders and leadership team shine with experience, wisdom, and conviction. I believed in the mission to help people get more out of their life insurance, not just the wealthiest few. The technical team is phenomenal, and it is important to me that I pour my passion into a product alongside people with diverse interests and experiences. Check, check, and check, so it was a no-brainer to join Inclined. 💻What is your favorite thing about life at Inclined so far? People at Inclined work purposefully for one another. Though we are a remote team, we consciously and consistently overcome obstacles to help a teammate in need. I have seen this be true from the technical team all the way to account executives. It's such a supportive environment that it makes it easy to get fresh ideas and tackle any problem. 💥What is your proudest accomplishment at Inclined so far? What do you look forward to the most? I’m proud of helping us communicate and coordinate better as a team, from running technical projects to establishing links between the technical and field teams. This has brought more cohesiveness across the company. I also look forward to the financial product capabilities we’re unlocking right now to serve more clients with different needs. Whole life insurance and lending against whole life cash value are complicated topics full of great software engineering opportunities.
