Forget going it alone in 2024! It's all about teaming up and crushing goals with your partners. No more buzzwords here – this Partner Driven Revenue thing is legit. Almost half of companies see major revenue boosts because they know collaboration is key.
Imagine a world where businesses stop battling and start building together. It is a win-win ecosystem where everyone thrives. Guess what? We're already there! Partner Ops and Programs aren't just office chores anymore; they fuel the revenue engine.
Performing solo is outdated. Now, it's about leaning on your squad, lifting each other, and recognizing the power of a good partnership. The next time you celebrate a big score, remember it's not just your team's sweat and tears. It's the combined effort of every partner who believed in your vision and brought their A-game.
So here's the deal: Take a moment to show your partners some love. Let them know you wouldn't be here without them. Remember, your success is their success – it's a two-way street. It's high time we put Partner Driven Revenue in the spotlight and gave it the high fives it deserves.
Ready to make 2024 the year of epic partnerships? Let's go!

The launch of the premium membership, Bottleneck , went as well as I could have hoped!
(I know, I know, not the most creative name)
Over 50 COOs and other tech operators joined.
We're on the path to building THE central hub for COO's to scale their business.
With The Bottleneck , you can:
- Learn how to create your own processes through the newsletter
- Connect with other COOs and operators to share stories
- Request to have tools built to optimize your time.
Don't believe me?
Since we launched last week, we’ve already built:
👉 A Business Leader Lessons Directory to get inspo
👉 A Notion Workspace to organize yourself and team
👉 A website feedback widget. This is our first tool that is being built out that will be free to all members.
Only been 3 months, but building thebottleneck.io has been a blast!
I can't wait to see what comes the next few months.
“Do we really need to document our mission? Isn’t it obvious what we do?”
Over the last quarter, we worked together with the Skedda team and Lever Talent, Inc. to document our Mission, Vision & Virtues (“MVV”). As a company that is 10 years old, some might be thinking - why now?
Here are the reasons we think it’s important to have a documented MVV:
Guidance and Direction: A clear mission ensures we are all working in the same direction. It outlines the company's reason for existence and what it aims to achieve. Ideally, it also clarifies what you are not doing.
Cohesive Company Culture: Virtues define what sets working at Skedda apart. Our core virtues are the characteristics we value most in our team. They are what we seek when we are looking to add to our team and what we reward when we are promoting within our team.
Attracting the Right Talent: Prospective employees seek companies with a strong sense of purpose and values that resonate with their own beliefs.
To create our MVV, we worked with the existing team to understand their experience and what they thought differentiated their Skedda experience. This included company wide focus groups and a Senior Leadership offsite. With almost the whole company participating, we are thrilled with the results!

Season 2, Show 6 - Weekend Update!
Recorded on Feb. 23
It was a busy week in the Destination Experiences business. We covered:
Hornblower Group's Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Our guest, Stephen Oddo, President of Walks and Devour Tours, both owned by Hornblower, really couldn't provide a lot of details, but Bruce and Christian provide their POV and speculation.
The executive shakeup at Rezdy, which also includes Checkfront and Regiondo - the trio of restechs that merged after the $100M investment from Vertical Capital Partners to acquire the three companies. Two of the Checkfront co-founders left the company earlier, Jason Morehouse and Grant Jurgeneit, and now COO Mark Holder is out. More surprising is that Rezdy's Chief Growth Officer, Susan DeBottis and CEO Chris Atkin are also out. And in an interesting and even more surprising twist, the new CEO is Mark Loh, who spent the last 8 years as Chief Product Officer at FareHarbor. And to add some more intrigue to this story, FareHarbor's founder Lawrence Hester is a partner at Vertical Capital Partners that provided the investment for the merger. This is going to get really interesting! What's the future for the consolidation of restechs? We only can speculate, and if you're reading this post, we'd love to hear you speculate too! We very briefly brought up some of the major players (but not all by any means) including PeekXolaBókun, a Tripadvisor companyVentrataGatewaybookingkitiTicketTrekkSoft but there are 100's out there and we all believe more consolidation is coming soon.
And finally, we discussed the potential implications of Tripadvisor's announcement that they are exploring a potential sale and what that might, or might not, mean for Viator (no one really knows, or at least, no one is saying anything about this).
If you watch/listen to one Experience This! show before heading to Arival 360 Berlin, this is the one.
Yesterday took me out of the office and into the lions den!
I had some great conversations with people about their businesses. This is a key part of our business strategy, and has worked well for us, spending the time listening to clients, understanding where they are and how they see things.
It's such an important skill to simply listen, understand and guide. Hopefully based on those valuable conversations and connections we will continue to foster positive relationships and create successful solutions.

Had an insightful conversation at home recently.
Me: Why did X even choose to do this movie?
Husband: Can't blame him. No one signs a movie if the story isn't good. So maybe, the story-telling was good, but execution didn't work out well.
A light bulb moment.
I got my answer to why we lost a client within one month of working with them, when we had such a smooth Onboarding process.
While the story we sold them must have attracted them, it might not have reflected on the work. Or maybe, it didn't work out to be the way they envisioned their brand to be.
So here I am, developing a more structured onboarding process to effectively understand clients' needs and goals.
While it might seem like I am back to square 1, I truly believe it is these little structures that make the foundation of the business strong.
What are the biggest challenges / considerations if you are considering acquiring another business?
I asked Andrea Bright her opinion at the recent Channel Chat Reseller Rumble.
As somebody who has led teams that have acquired other businesses and worked in businesses that have been acquired, she was uniquely placed to cover this subject.
