It's been one week since the official launch of the pan-European SIDC Intraday Auctions #SIDCIDAs. 🚀 For the last 10 years, #EPEX has been running the widest #Intraday auction offering. We have been expanding our service since the first launch in 2014 in Germany! This "4th dimension" joke comes with a true innovation! So far, it was possible to exchange GOs on EPEX trading platform based on 3 main criteria: country of production, technology and potential subsidy scheme. The first-of-its-kind algorithm delivered an optimal order allocation implementing an automatic matching capability. This was achieved via vintage-specific auctions, which was however identified as a limitation as some markets are currently month-based while others are year-based. Some matching opportunities between vintage resolutions were missed. To solve this, EPEX SPOT has been working with Artelys over the last 8 months to upgrade the optimization algorithm. From next auction, the production period will be introduced as a new criteria (this famous "4th dimension"), allowing to match also various vintage temporalities! Interested in Guarantees of Origins?
