Today, as part of their preparations for #DORA, the three European Supervisory Authorities (#EBA, #EIOPA and #ESMA) have published an indicative overview of ICT third-party providers. The exercise has identified around 15,000 ICT TPPs directly serving financial entities across the 🇪🇺EU. It has found that the most frequently used ICT TPPs support 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, and that most critical services are non-substitutable by financial institutions. The information will be considered by the ESAs when assessing the critical nature of ICT TPPs. ICT TPPs designated as “𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥” are subject to more #cyber resilience-enhancing obligations.
