Making hydrogen simple Yesterday I had the pleasure of presenting at the Aachen Hydrogen Colloquium 2024 on Linde's unique setup, proprietary technologies, and experience in the storage and distribution of hydrogen. Linde is leading the way in the transition to a green hydrogen economy, with innovative technologies focusing on greenhouse gas emission reduction and liquid hydrogen distribution. Our expertise in hydrogen production, CapEx reduction, and dedicated infrastructure, is crucial for decarbonization. We are proud to be a technology provider for the entire hydrogen value chain, from production to end-use. My key take-aways from the interesting discussions with many colleagues: Green Hydrogen: Green hydrogen is an important solution provider for renewable power growth and greenhouse gas emissions reduction. Infrastructure: The right infrastructure, including renewable energy production and a dedicated infrastructure, is crucial for decarbonization. We must stop discussing what is the right technology for the future – gaseous or liquid hydrogen, Ammonia or Methanol... To fight climate change we need them all and we need them now. Hydrogen is increasingly seen as the key to achieving our net zero targets, particularly in decarbonizing Hard-to-Abate sectors. However, establishing a robust infrastructure for hydrogen production and delivery poses significant challenges, necessitating thorough analysis of both the energy system and industry sectors. In a recent paper, our colleagues have developed a comprehensive, high-resolution energy system model to explore various future scenarios for Belgium, a major industrial hotspot in Europe.
