CONSUMER ENERGY STRATEGY: Our General Manager Safety & Operations David Campbell recently joined industry and community advocates to represent Endeavour Energy (NSW) at the Consumer Energy Strategy Roundtable hosted by NSW Minister for the Environment, Energy, Climate and Heritage Penny Sharpe. The roundtable is part of the NSW Government’s consultation on how its strategy can support NSW households and small businesses transition to a net-zero emissions energy system. The workshop actively engaged key stakeholders on issues such as incentives and opportunities related to energy efficiency, electrification, and consumer protections, and access to consumer energy resources (CER) for households (such as solar, batteries, and EV chargers). David shared that NSW electricity networks could support the NSW Government's strategy by breaking down the complexity of the electricity supply industry for customers to enable CER’s faster, cheaper and with less community impact by implementing community batteries, EV charging infrastructure, distributed Renewable Energy Zones and an accelerated smart meter roll out. We look forward to working with the NSW Government on enabling CER initiatives to support a faster, cheaper and community-supported transition to a sustainable energy future. #energy #powertogether Cheryl Bart, Guy Chalkley, Leanne Pickering, Francoise Merit GAICD FCPA, Melissa Irwin, Andrew Pitman, Colin Crisafulli, Emma Ringland, Kate McCue, Energy Networks Australia, UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures, St Vincent de Paul Society NSW, Australian Energy Council, Energy Consumers Australia, Clean Energy Council, Better Renting, NSW Council of Social Service (NCOSS), Public Interest Advocacy Centre, Energy Efficiency Council, Rewiring Australia, Tenants' Union of NSW, NSW Decarbonisation Innovation Hub, Combined Pensioners & Superannuants Association (CPSA), Solar Citizens, Green Building Council of Australia, Energy & Water Ombudsman NSW (EWON)

#NewsIE | The Scottish Building Regulations plan is "outdated" for the #solarindustry. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/deDXzmvX 📣 Scotland's solar energy trade organization claims that the Scottish Government has proposed a new energy efficiency benchmark for buildings that would be outdated before it ever becomes law. 💬 “We welcome the Scottish Government’s intentions to upgrade fabric and comfort standards and improve quality assurance for newbuild properties. However, we caution against using outdated energy calculations that undervalue on-site generation such as solar power, and the huge opportunities of battery energy storage and smart home energy management. We would encourage the Scottish Government to align with the EU and the rest of the UK on #rooftopsolar,” said Josh King, Chair of trade group Solar Energy Scotland and Director of sustainable energy services company Gensource. fyi: Scottish Renewables, Solar Energy UK, REA, Gareth S.
