For #RefugeeWeek this year, the theme is Our Home. 🏡🌎 At Enable, working closely with the Homes for Ukraine Programme in Wandsworth, we have seen how hard it is for refugees to move to a new country and leave their home behind due to war, conflict or to find a better future. It is not only important for us to raise awareness for refugees this week but to also take a moment to be grateful for #OurHome. See more on how to find out more on how you can get involved! Every minute 20 people leave everything behind to escape war, persecution or terror. World Refugee Day is an international day designated by the United Nations to honor refugees around the globe. It falls each year on June 20 and celebrates the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution. World Refugee Day is an occasion to build empathy and understanding for their plight and to recognize their resilience in rebuilding their lives. Refugees need our solidarity now more than ever. Solidarity means keeping our doors open, celebrating their strengths and achievements, and reflecting on the challenges they face. Solidarity with people forced to flee also means finding solutions to their plight – ending conflicts so they can return home in safety, ensuring they have opportunities to thrive in the communities that have welcomed them, and providing countries with the resources they need to include and support refugees. #WorldRefugeeDay #RefugeesWelcome #WithRefugees

Since The Kolya Project's inception, we've successfully resettled seven individuals in the United States through the Uniting for Ukraine program. We are currently communicating with five additional refugees (and one puppy), resulting in an urgent need for sponsors for Ukrainian war refugees. There will always be refugees in need of rescue and resettlement, and selfless individuals like you play a crucial role in making this possible. Sponsoring refugees extends beyond financial support (which varies depending on the needs of the individuals being sponsored). It's about helping people rebuild their lives, heal, and flourish. Your support can have a profound impact on Ukrainian war refugees. By offering your assistance during their time of need, you can make a significant difference in a refugee's life. What could be more rewarding than contributing to international humanitarian efforts within your own community? If you're interested in sponsoring Ukrainian refugees, learning more about sponsorship, or getting involved with our organization, please fill out the "contact us" form on our website (https://lnkd.in/eWgbqDjc) for more information. #RefugeeResettlement #UnitingForUkraine #SupportUkrainianRefugees #SponsorARefugee #CommunitySupport #HelpRefugees #RebuildLives #MakeADifference #StandWithUkraine #HumanitarianWork #RefugeeSponsorship #LocalActionGlobalImpact

How does it feel to leave your home behind? What would you take? Join us this Refugee Week as we reflect on the impossible choices faced by millions of refugees. Our film ‘Leaving’ brings to life the beautiful words of the poet Momtaza Mehri, narrated by the wonderful Adjoa Andoh while shining a light on the harrowing reality of forced displacement. No-one chooses where they are born, or the struggles or conflict they are born into. No-one chooses to be a refugee. They deserve hope and understanding from us all. #WorldRefugeeDay #RefugeeWeek #RefugeesWelcome #SupportPeopleSeekingAsylum
