Last week, we had the privilege of volunteering with Passageways Ltd. to support veterans who are currently homeless in our community. Proud to be part of an effort that provides crucial housing and support to those who have served our country.

Today, on the National Day of Service and Remembrance, we pause to reflect on the tragic events of September 11, 2001—a day that forever changed our country’s history. It’s a moment to remember the lives lost, honor the heroes who responded with unwavering courage, and recognize the unity that moved a nation. I, like so many, vividly remember where I was (NYC) on that fateful day. The shock, the disbelief, and the deep sense of grief remain etched in my memory. But so too does the incredible strength and unity that emerged in its aftermath. September 11th is more than a day of remembrance—it’s a call to action. It’s a chance to give back, to embody the spirit of resilience, and to support those who continue to serve. Whether through simple acts of kindness, volunteering, or organizing community events, we can all make a difference. Join us on this journey: Volunteer: Help us assemble Care Packages for our Military and First Responders. Organize: Lead a service event in your community. As we honor the memory of those we lost, let’s come together in service, kindness, and unity. 👉 How will you participate in this National Day of Service? #911Day #NationalDayOfService #NeverForget #Service #Volunteer

"Sean" served in the British Military. After battling with PTSD, he was unable to work after serving and much to his frustration - was eventually made homeless. Today is RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS DAY 🎉 I would like to encourage everyone who sees this post to do a random act of kindness this weekend. Here is a list of some acts of kindness • Paying for a stranger’s food bill. • Giving a homeless person food or money. • Checking in on your elderly relatives or neighbours. • Donating to charities like ours https://lnkd.in/ePCsqsn8 • Complimenting people. • Offering your services to someone who may not be able to afford them otherwise but would benefit from them. • Sharing a word of encouragement with someone. • Giving a bunch of flowers 💐 to a stranger & tell them it’s random act of kindness day (pass it on 😊)… you just never know what someone is going through and that random act of kindness, could be the very thing that uplifts them and changed the course of their life! So your challenge; should you wish to accept it is 1- Share this post and 2- Do at least 1 random act of kindness this weekend 🥰💐

Here is a great way to not only give back, but also feel good mentally. Giving back can have a positive impact on your mental health, including boost in mood, reduce stress, and even help with your overall wellbeing. Thanks for sharing Matthew “Doc” Campbell, BSM, MBA, ACHE .

National Volunteer Week (April 21-27) Serving in your #community and #volunteering are powerful ways to make a positive impact on the world around you. By dedicating your time and skills to helping others, you can create meaningful change, foster connections and contribute to the well-being of those in need. While National Volunteer Week kicks off April 21, VA invites everyone in the community to explore ways to give back to Veterans any time of the year. In addition, #Veterans can explore volunteer opportunities as part of VetServe 2024, which encourages Veterans to become volunteers to support other Veterans. On April 24, 2024, join #VA in supporting a National Day of Service through VetServe 2024. #VetServe is a celebration of service and a call-to-action aimed to encourage the nation’s 19 million Veterans, their families, caregivers and survivors to serve in their community. Did you know 🤷♂️ 🙌In Fiscal Year 2023, 25,403 active volunteers contributed more than 3.2 million hours of service to Veterans, their families, caregivers, and survivors at VA medical facilities across the country. Additionally, these individuals, along with community partners generously donated more than $81.1 million to VA, supporting critical programs and essential services that have a lasting and positive impact on Veterans. 🤯 There were 25,403 volunteers on VA’s rolls during FY 2023, contributing a total of more than 3.2 million hours of service. It would require 1,565 Full Time Equivalents (FTE) to cover the workload of CDCE volunteers. 🎯#CDCE volunteers and their organizations contributed more than $81.1 million in gifts and donations in FY 2023 for a combined total value of over $112.4 million in volunteer service and giving. 🤜🤛Monetary estimates aside, it is impossible to calculate the amount of caring and sharing these CDCE volunteers provide to Veteran patients. #NationalVolunteerWeek #VA #Volunteers #Community #VetServe
