This past couple of weeks, my Medical Assistant class has been practicing our vital signs skills. We have been learning various different methods of taking vital signs and how to use medical equipment we aren't familiar with. Learning all of these skills in my class has helped me so much at my internship. While at my internship, I room patients and take their vitals. So, through my class I am able to better preform these skills. #provointerns #provocte #cteinternships

Specimen Collection is one of the new skills that I recently learned in my medical assistant class, and it is so interesting to learn about all the different kinds of specimen that can be collected and the different tests that can be done with those specimens to determine if a patient is healthy! Specimen collection is also a skill that I have been able to practice and observe at my internship. Provo School District CTE Internships #Medassistantstudent #ProvoInterns #CTE #Student

One thing that has helped me understand the way the heart works is from my class, Medical Anatomy. Mrs Lyman was the best teacher and showed us all the ways the heart works, from the muscle contractions to the electrical activity. It was so cool to dissect and see where everything is at. One way I can see this in my internship is the rhythms on the monitor or EKG. Different rhythms mean different things, and it's important to know the patterns to help save someone's life. #nebointerns #utahcteinternships #internships #shhsinterns

🩺 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝘆𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗵: Lessons from my Internship Journey 🩺 As I reflect on my Medical Internship journey, it's not just the memories and gratitude that flood my thoughts. It's also the invaluable lessons that have become an integral part of my growth. Today, I'm excited to share my treasure trove of lessons that I've gathered from my time as a Medical Laboratory Science Intern. 1️⃣𝗕𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 Moving from the classroom to the lab, I learned the significance of patience as the cornerstone of growth. I realized that every step, no matter how small, contributes to becoming a confident professional. 2️⃣ 𝗔𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝗸 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀! Don't underestimate the power of inquiry. Asking questions is not a sign of weakness but a path to valuable insights and continuous improvement. 3️⃣ 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 Confidence is the key to success. During my internship, I learned that gaining confidence in your skills and decision-making is a journey, not a destination. 4️⃣ 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 The laboratory is a place of precision. Staying organized is not just a habit but a necessity to ensure accurate results and smooth operations in the medical field. 5️⃣ 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 Self-care isn't selfish; it's essential. Take breaks, get enough sleep, and maintain a healthy work-life balance to prevent burnout. Develop coping strategies to handle the stress and emotional challenges that come with the profession. Join me in Part 2 for more valuable lessons from my internship journey. I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments! ..... Yesterday was meant to be the day I shared this post. Unfortunately, life had different plans for me, and I had a long day that made me forget about the writing challenge. My week also decided not to end. So, here I am, almost not showing up today too, but...well, the world's most persistent week can't stop me now! Thanks for your understanding and as I navigate through this journey, even when the universe tries to play tricks on me! Onward to Part 2, because why not! #blf #Day4of10 #Perseverance #MedicalInternship #MedicalLaboratoryScience #LessonsLearned #Growth #LinkedInCommunity

There are so many great internship opportunities available. If I had to go back to my time as an undergraduate student, I wish I would have utilized my resources more! I wish I would have asked more questions and pushed myself to seek out more internships opportunities. For me, I worked 3 jobs while in school and didn’t see how an internship would help my “now”. But as someone that is almost 7 years removed from undergrad, those internship skills would have been super helpful when seeking post-undergrad work and would have been useful in pay negotiations. #internshipopportunity #apply #pushforward

Hi LinkedIn Family, I've completed one year of practice as a medical doctor and now I am a fully registered! The internship period was rich with opportunities for learning. I will be having a series of posts titled #StoriesfromInternsip which will highlight moments that stand out in my mind as focal points of the experience where I learned valuable lessons about what it means to be human. What a better time than the present, to share my first story, #StoriesfromInternship: Radial Stick.

Recently I have loved my internship at the Mountain View Hospital and really enjoyed the time I've spent there! I have learned a lot including different skills you need for different professions. One skill that I want to gain is patience. I think this is an important skill to learn because it can be beneficial in many ways. Because patients are vulnerable and have a lot going on, having someone who is patient taking care of them and understanding their feelings will be helpful to them. To gain this skill, I think it's just going to take time and my effort to really try to be patient and understand how big of an impact it can make. Another skill I want to gain from my internship is confidence. Being confident in myself and the things I am learning! This skill is important because having confidence will help you get the job done and make decisions easier. One way I plan to achieve this goal is to be more open and confident in class. Ask more questions and volunteer so I can learn as much as I can. One last goal I want to gain in this internship is decision making. I want to learn this because I know how important it is to make decisions in the medical field; whether that is giving medicine, doing surgery's etc. I am hoping to achieve this by being confident in the knowledge I have and not be scared of failure. I am excited to learn many more skills during my internship! #nebointerns #utahcteinternships #internships #shhsinterns
