I have spoken on the dynamic that one of the biggest societal impacts of AI will be the potential rapid displacement of knowledge workers. No other major technology wave that I can think of had the potential to impact as wide a range of knowledge workers as quickly, with almost zero capital outlay. This is different from all other major technological advancements that our society has lived through: laying fields is hard, building electricity plants takes capital, laying communication lines is slow, and building Amazon's fulfillment infrastructure was a massive undertaking. But #IaaS (what I like to call Intelligence as a Service) is effectively instant. One thing to watch closely will be rapid shifts in compensation dynamics. Huge problem: AI-created content flowing into Search = degrading results = degraded trust in Search. Check out this actual example from a search I just tried "Countries in Africa that start with the letter K" on Google. The misinformation pandora's box that will come from misuse of AI is significant both directly and indirectly. Knowing what is a trusted, original source of information or communication is going to be critical. You are probably all getting barraged by the wave of new, improved, enhanced, 10x faster AI tools. There are new ones coming every day: magic technologies that will 'take away the need for you to do anything other than just sit back and relax'. At the surface it sounds compelling. But I have come to an important realization. If we let technologies degrade the authenticity of our interactions or eliminate our agency, we are hallowing out what it means to be human. We are meant to be connected, to be productive. That is when we thrive. So my new personal filter for any AI tool or product is simple: Q1: Will it increase vs. decrease the authenticity of my interactions? Q2: Will it increase vs. decrease my personal agency? If it decreases either, I will happily put it into the 'pass' pile. #4thstakeholder #authenticity #agency Emovid

No, this is not an AI-generated misspelling. Giving tough and honest feedback is one of the hardest but most important things you can do as a leader. It's both hard to give and receive, but it's a true gift. A new friend of mine introduced me to the perfect term to describe this: "Speaking the truth in love (STTIL)" It's a great meme.
