The HLP series is designed for processing different materials and for large circular and shaped holes. Usually used for agriculture applications. It is the most powerful model among the LaserPin macro-perforation and due to this it is suitable and used especially for applications in the agricultural sector such as mulching film. Interesting fact: as you can see from the picture, films are often macro and micro perforated to maximise efficiency! An article from The Hamilton Spectator (linked below) describes a pilot project utilizing 3D-printed traps to capture an invasive species, the Hemlock woolly adelgid. This is an aphid-like insect that attacks—you guessed it—hemlocks. They cause loss of foliage, discoloration, and premature needle loss, but can even kill hemlocks in as little as three years. With milder winters becoming the norm, researchers have begun to see adelgid eggs earlier in the year.
