What an empowering session with Brighid Gannon, DNP, PMHNP-BC. One of our key takeaways from the session "What does nurse-led innovation mean to you?" is that nurses understand how to optimize systems, and when they cross that with business and innovation, they are positioned to do it best. "I had a non-traditional path to nursing. I was a modern dancer first which taught me to care for my body. I appreciated that the nursing model looked at the patient as a whole person. I have always been interested in the upstream reasons people get sick. I think we can save a lot of money on upstream reasons people get sick (e.g., housing, clean water), and as a nurse innovator, we can do that best with our holistic approach."
