A huge thank you to TAMBR for curating these amazing Spotify playlists during the Embassy of Dutch Creativity last week. TAMBR’s curation has set the perfect tone for every part of the day! 🎶✨ Find the playlists herewith: 🌅 Morning Magic: This playlist perfectly captures the magical feeling of a sunny morning without deadlines and obligations. Smooth, downtempo, and with a hint of 80's Ibiza vibes, back when Amnesia was just a word for sleeplessness: https://lnkd.in/eg2Bt8Jd 🌞 Daytime Disruption: Packed with more action, this playlist picks up the pace and gets you moving. It's the perfect soundtrack for a late breakfast, your first espresso-martini, or a drive in the Mehari as the lines flap against the mast: https://lnkd.in/ewpctZ8s 🌃 Evening Extravaganza: An eclectic collection of tracks as colorful as the nights in Cannes. Think bitterballen meets Veuve Clicquot, Carlton meets eurotrash. This playlist keeps the night going just a little longer: https://lnkd.in/eVQcjvNN #embassyofdutchcreativity #dutchfinest

🤘🏻What have you been listening to this year? Rather than examining why I'm metal as fück, we're going to dive into the question of why is Spotify Wrapped so damn compelling? Allow me to explain: ❄️ Ultimate Personalisation: Each Spotify Wrapped is a unique reflection of your musical voyage. For example, I uncovered 1002 different artists this year alone. Just imagine the countless tailored experiences Spotify creates for every listener! 🎖️ Comparative Revelations: While comparing ourselves to others can often breed discontent, Spotify transforms this into a positive encounter. Discovering that you're in the top 2% of fans for a band like Sabaton, and even receiving a personal message from them, fosters a sense of connection and accomplishment. 🍕 Easy to Share: Spotify Wrapped is ingeniously crafted for sharing. It's not just about personal insights; it's about sparking a worldwide conversation about our musical tastes and discoveries. 😱 Fear of Missing Out: The annual arrival of Spotify Wrapped subtly reminds us of what we might miss if we switch to another service. It's a clever play on the psychological principle of loss aversion. 🗿 Everlasting: Beyond being a yearly recap, Spotify allows you to save your annual playlist. This feature transforms your Wrapped into a timeless collection, allowing you to revisit the soundtracks of your year, whenever. Spotify Wrapped is more than just a yearly review; it's a testament to deliberate design, a thorough understanding of psychology, and taking advantage of being the app I used 48,986 minutes. So, what does your Spotify Wrapped reveal about your musical journey this year? Let me know in the comments. 👇 #userexperience #productdesign #software

Spotify 'Wrapped' dropped last week and, as usual, was all any of us saw for a few days. But why is ‘Wrapped’ so successful? To understand this we explored the Neuroscience at the heart of how Spotify breaks the internet on an annual basis. The appeal of Spotify 'Wrapped' can be attributed to an interplay of multiple factors that have a profound impact on our brains 🧠 Our brain has a natural inclination towards personalisation and experiences that are ‘relevant’ 💾 Wrapped has a unique ability to engage areas of the brain related to Reflection and Memory Retrieval. 🔗 The act of sharing our musical tastes & trends is more than a social cue, it activates our mirror neuron system which can shed deep insights into the social fabric of digital interactions, and the sense of belonging they can create 🎁 Music is inherently rewarding, activating the dopaminergic systems of the brain. This is further enriched by the anticipatory experience of waiting to discover your musical tastes & trends for the year 💭 The journey of introspection created by 'Wrapped' which highlights the role of our 'default mode network' (DMN) in our brains. Unveiling the Psychology 🧠 Behind Spotify Wrapped: A Dive into the World of Intermittent Rewards As the year 2023 draws to a close, a familiar excitement starts to buzz among music enthusiasts around the globe. It's that time of the year when Spotify unwraps a musical journey tailored just for you – the eagerly anticipated Spotify Wrapped. Little do you know; this moment of anticipation is intricately tied to the psychology of rewards. The human brain craves novelty and anticipation, and when we receive a reward unexpectedly, it triggers a surge of dopamine, the neurotransmitter associated with pleasure and motivation. This dopamine rush is much stronger than the one we experience from predictable rewards, which explains why we get so excited about things like: 1. Discovering a hidden gem in our Spotify Wrapped: When we stumble upon a top artist or song we didn't even realize we listened to so much, it feels like a special surprise and makes the entire experience more enjoyable. 2. Finding a Rs 100 note in an old jeans pocket: This unexpected windfall is much more exciting than simply receiving the same amount of money as a planned payment. 3. Winning a game we weren't expecting to: The thrill of victory is amplified when we overcome the odds and achieve something unexpected. 🎶✨ #spotify #humanbehavior #psychology #productdesign

Spotify's leap into AI-driven playlists is changing the game! 🎵💡 #InnovationInMusic Picture this: you're about to throw the wildest party of the year, or maybe you just need some tunes to drown out the silence while you work. What do you do? Well, Spotify's got you covered with their latest trick up their sleeve—AI-generated playlists based on your whims and fancies. Just type in a mood, genre, or vague idea, and voilà, you've got a playlist that's so spot-on, it's spooky. Gone are the days of spending hours curating the perfect playlist. Spotify's AI is like that friend who knows your music taste better than you do. It's easy, it's fast, and it's eerily accurate. But let's not forget the real question here: will it pass the ultimate test and get grandma dancing at the next family gathering?" What's the weirdest song combination Spotify's AI has thrown into your playlist? Share your hilarious finds! 😂🎶 https://lnkd.in/gfn7Zz63 #SpotifyAI #MusicRevolution #AIPlaylists #TechInMusic #PlaylistMagic #MusicAI #AudioAI #CuratedPlaylists #AutomatedPlaylists

Spotify, yet again, introduces a new feature that allows users to share playlists in a personalized way. Previously, the platform had Blend and Duo Mix to share playlists. However, the newly added feature, called Jam, allows users to add songs to a playlist in real time. The feature has started to roll out today, but only premium users will be able to create a ‘Jam’. They can invite their friends, who can be free or paid users, to the playlist. Instead of having one person control the playlist at the party, anyone will be able to contribute to a shared queue. What makes this feature unique is that it will use AI to analyze the queue and suggest similar songs based on your preferences. I left my music comfort zone in 2023 ( AudioMack) I dipped my toes into Spotify: $9.99/month, was a Problem, but guess what? They offered a free 3-month trial, giving me a delicious first taste of their curated playlists and seamless platform. Talk about a game-changer! Spotify knew their service was top-notch, but they also understood nobody gets hooked on something they haven't tried. Just like drug dealers wouldn't expect you to buy a brick without a sample, smart brands focus on that initial, positive experience. Your Product/Service should: ✍️Hook them with the first experience. Make that initial visit, product trial, or service demo so positive, it sends shivers down their spines (the good kind!), just as Spotify gives 3 months trial. ✍️Free tastings, samples, and trials are your secret weapons. Give them a glimpse of your awesomeness without the commitment. Let your product speak for itself. If it's truly top-notch, like Spotify's tunes, trust that a good first impression will do the talking. Loyalty is built, not bought. Make that first taste so good, your Clients/customers won't want anything else. Have a Fruitful week ahead. #FirstImpressionsMatter #FreeTastesWin #BuildingBrandLoyalty #BrandStrategy #uxuidesign #productdesign

Spotify Wrapped is back and even better! It’s that time of year where everyone is sharing their #SpotifyWrapped. First released in 2016, the viral tradition has taken over social media and this year’s no different. It has become a popular year-end tradition for Spotify users, offering a nostalgic and reflective look back at their musical journey over the past year. This year, though, something caught our attention (thanks to RNIB!). It’s the first year that #SpotifyWrapped can be navigated using a screen reader. That means those who are blind and partially sighted can find out their top artists, songs, genres and lots more! We love this! Inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do here at Magenta and we know first-hand how much of a difference small changes can make. If you're not consciously including people, you're actively excluding them. This belief underpins all of our research and work practices. So what’s on your Spotify Wrapped?! (If you feel brave enough to share….) #accessibility #spotifywrapped #inclusivity

Do's and Don'ts for Getting Your Song Featured on Spotify Playlists 🎵 Do's: Research the Playlist Curator: Understand the kind of music they feature. Tailor your pitch to show how your song fits their playlist's vibe. Personalize Your Pitch: Mention specific reasons why your song is a great fit for their playlist. Reference their previous work to show you’ve done your homework. Professional Presentation: Include high-quality cover art, a well-written bio, and a brief but compelling description of your song. Make it easy for curators to learn about you. 🚫 Don’ts: Avoid Mass Messaging: Don’t send generic, impersonal pitches to multiple curators. It’s easily recognizable and often ignored. Don’t Overwhelm with Links: Keep your email or message concise. Don’t include too many links or attachments that could clutter the pitch. Don’t Ignore Smaller Playlists: Emerging curators and smaller playlists can provide significant exposure and help build momentum for your track.

Is nostalgia now served with a side of neon and pixelated squiggles? Spotify Wrapped's latest iteration, with its 'Tron'-esque aesthetics, attempts to bridge the gap between digital dazzle and human emotion. This year, the streaming giant isn't just a curator of playlists but a cartographer of your musical soul. The "Me in 2023" feature, assigning users characters like "Time Traveler" or "Vampire," seems like a quirky Myers-Briggs test for your ears. It's a humorous, if slightly cheeky, nod to our unique, and sometimes quirky, listening habits. Imagine discovering you're a "Vampire" – perhaps a moment of existential crisis for daytime listeners. Then there's Sound Town, a feature that connects you with a city based on your musical tastes. It's like a musical passport without the hassle of airport security. Fans of música Mexicana are virtually transported to Mexico City, while French pop aficionados find themselves strolling through Paris. It's a small world after all, at least in the Spotify universe. The presentation of data this year takes a turn towards the whimsical. Top genres as sandwich fillings? Spotify seems to be blending culinary and musical tastes, serving up a bizarre but intriguing 'genre sandwich'. And tracing your top artists through the months allows for a trip down memory lane, aligning musical peaks with personal milestones. While the new features are inventive, one can't help but wonder: Are we reducing our complex emotional connections to music to a series of whimsical, algorithm-generated labels? Still, there's an undeniable charm in seeing the soundtrack of your year laid out in a playful, visually arresting format. If only Spotify could indeed make us hear our favorite song for the first time again. Until then, we'll settle for being a “Time Traveler” in our own musical journey. #SpotifyWrapped #NostalgiaInNeon #MusicalMyersBriggs #SoundTownAdventures #GenreSandwich https://buff.ly/3GkdqBJ
