At SLIF, Jill Vitale-Aussem shared powerful insights on how to create a more inclusive and empowering culture within senior living communities. Her key message? Transformation begins with conversation. Jill emphasized that no one ever says, "I don't want people to feel like they belong here." Yet, fostering a true sense of belonging requires intentional effort. The first step is to start asking questions and involving more people in decision-making processes. As Jill put it, "Better decisions are made when you involve more people." When communities become more open and accepting, the outcomes are remarkable. Residents start to own the ideas and become more inclusive. There's a shift from "me" to "we," from feeling entitled to feeling empowered, and from focusing on individual rights to embracing shared responsibilities. Limited beliefs fall away, and a stronger, more vibrant community emerges. https://hubs.li/Q02Bbd150

Celebrating Juneteenth: A Time for Reflection, Unity, and Progress Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, a pivotal moment in history that symbolizes freedom, resilience, and the relentless pursuit of justice. This day reminds us of the end of slavery in the United States and honors the strength and spirit of those who fought tirelessly for their freedom. At Zinier, we are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered. We believe that our differences make us stronger and more innovative. Today, let's reaffirm our dedication to building an environment where every voice is heard, and every person has the chance to thrive. As we reflect on this significant day, let us also acknowledge the journey that lies ahead in our collective quest for equity and inclusion. In the technology industry, we have a unique opportunity—and responsibility—to drive change by empowering the #frontlineworkforce who make the world a safe, connected and sustainable place. On this #Juneteenth, let us celebrate the progress we've made, recognize the challenges that remain, and continue to work together towards a brighter, more inclusive future. Here's to honoring the past, embracing the present, and shaping a better tomorrow. #Juneteenth #Equality #Diversity #Inclusion #TechForGood

We are excited to announce that due to the success of our first mini conference we will be hosting a second Diversity Matters mini conference on the 29th November in the Cork International Hotel. During this half day event you will get the opportunity to listen to and engage with various expert panellists who will discuss the importance and meaning of ‘Moving Beyond Tokenism’. Moving beyond tokenism is crucial for achieving true diversity and inclusivity. While tokenism may provide a starting point for underrepresented individuals to gain visibility, it is not enough to create lasting change. True inclusivity requires recognising and valuing the unique perspectives and experiences of all individuals, irrespective of their background. It involves dismantling systemic barriers and creating an environment that fosters equal opportunities for everyone. By moving beyond tokenism, we can create spaces where all voices are heard, respected, and uplifted, leading to a more equitable and inclusive society. To find more about our exciting line up of expert speakers visit: https://lnkd.in/eMyTpy5T Tickets are free for members and €15 for non-members. Registration is essential. #techindustryalliance #diversity #diversityandinclusion #diversitymatters #diversityintheworkplace #diversityintech #employees #cork #kerry #southwest #inclusion

We are not equal. It is a simple fact of life. Some have more than others, some need more support than others. A fair society is one which celebrates diversity and provides equitable support particularly for the weakest and most vulnerable. Politicising D&I will hurt the weakest the most, especially where there are the highest numbers of Hospitality and Tourism workers. #diversityandinclusion #equitymatters https://lnkd.in/evxjyWzN
