𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐬?✈️ Fun fact. Did you know that the top speed of a NASCAR car can exceed 200 miles per hour, faster than the average commercial airplane takeoff speed? The record for the fastest top speed in a NASCAR race weekend stands at 212 mph (341 kph), set by Bill Elliott at Talladega in 1987 during the qualifying rounds. Commercial planes typically takeoff at about 150 to 180 miles per hour (260 kph). However, these blistering speeds led to safety concerns, as cars began to literally lift off the ground (aka became airborne) under certain conditions. This lead to NASCAR implementing restrictor plates at the high-speed tracks of Daytona International Speedway and Talladega to reduce speeds, (notably after Bobby Allison's dramatic crash at the 1987 Winston 500). Still the races are heart thumping events. So will you be at Daytona or watching the race this weekend? 🏁 #daytona500 #motorsports #sports #cars #aircraft #speed

The sound of 40 800 horsepower machines racing at 150 miles per hour is simply thunderous. The vibrating speed and smell of fuel make it a multi-sensory experience like no other. I've been lucky enough to attend around 10 races, but this time was unique as I got to capture some amazing content. Have you been to a NASCAR race before? Share your experiences in the comments! #NASCAR #Racing #BucketListExperience
