Behavioral health is one area of medicine that has lagged in the move towards precision medicine, in part because of a lack of high-quality evidence to drive decision-making. Holmusk is working to change that by using AI and real-world data to transform mental health care. Eze Abosi, chief growth officer for Holmusk, sits down with Amar Drawid, Ph.D., to discuss the need for standardized ways to measure symptoms for behavioral health conditions. They talk about how Holmusk is unlocking much-needed evidence to guide the successful development of new therapies, how its platform technology works, and why he believes it is charting a path for bringing precision medicines to people with mental health conditions. https://lnkd.in/gQUVyRfr

We’re back with another episode of Chats with Woeboteers! This week, we sat down with our Chief Clinical Officer, Athena Robinson PhD, to discuss the state of diversity and self-identity reporting in randomized controlled trials of digital mental health interventions. In a year-long effort to study the topic—during which almost 300 publications were evaluated—Athena and her research collaborators found widespread underreporting of sociodemographic information. Explore the full study results, and learn why they’re critical for elevating the conversation about health equity in clinical research trial design: https://bit.ly/3TiRZXs #DigitalHealth #MentalHealth #AI #DigitalTherapeutics #MentalHealthChatbot #MentalHealthAI

“The more we know about the people participating in our trials, the more it will help us understand how we can recruit wider populations that are more inclusive.” Despite the importance of self-identity, our Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Athena Robinson and her research collaborators found that there was widespread underreporting of sociodemographic information in randomized controlled trials of digital mental health interventions. Prioritizing sociodemographic data could help advance the real-world impact of study findings and reduce inequities in healthcare. What if we could make mental health training data for artificial intelligence universally accessible and collaborative? The goal would be to establish an open-source repository of anonymized patient conversations, enabling widespread research and innovation in mental health. This resource will serve as a rich dataset for training advanced AI models, laying the groundwork for an explosion of new mental health solutions. The approach is innovative because, unlike traditional research methods that often operate in silos, this promotes an open, collaborative environment. By providing free access to valuable training data, we enable researchers and software developers to create advanced applications for mental health care. This initiative is timely and necessary, given the technological advancements in AI and the increasing need for mental health solutions that lower the cost of care. If successful, it would have a profound impact by democratizing mental health research, lowering barriers to both data access and collaborative innovation. In turn, this would not only drive down the costs of impactful interventions but also accelerate the development of personalized, effective mental health treatments, ultimately leading to a healthier society. #mentalhealth #ideas #artificialintelligence

🚨 EXCITING, UPCOMING WEBINAR! 🚨 💡 Everyone knows digital peer support works – but how and why does it work? While traditional mental health treatments are often studied using randomized controlled trials (RCTs), digital peer support is not the same as treatment and therefore cannot be studied in the same way. Togetherall entrusted Lyssn – an objective, unaffiliated third party – to evaluate our online peer support community and to describe the prevalence of therapeutic ingredients known to produce positive outcomes in traditional treatment settings. Join us on Tuesday, 13 February at 1pm EST/ 6pm GMT for an exclusive first look exploring the ways in which digital peer support is shown effective through sharing real, lived experiences with others, which cannot be replicated by that of AI. Our panel of experts will present results from our fascinating recent study, showcasing examples of how and why digital peer support is so positively impactful across Togetherall’s higher education clientele. Meet the panel: 🔸 Laura Horne, MPH, of Active Minds, Inc. 🔸 Zac Imel, Ph.D., of Lyssn 🔸 Ben Locke, Ph.D., of Togetherall 💻 Register now: https://lnkd.in/ebZaDGNw #webinar #digitalpeersupport #peersupport #digitalmentalhealth
