We are excited to celebrate the launch of "Project Monarch" with Capture6 and Palmdale Water District as they break ground on this innovative water-positive carbon capture facility. Together, we're shaping a sustainable future! 🌍💧 - Hear from Gwendy Brown, our Senior Policy Advisor, for the on-the-ground recap of yesterday’s groundbreaking event!!
I now have an even deeper appreciation for what it takes to get a project "shovel ready"! Yesterday I had the privilege of joining the groundbreaking of the Pure Water Antelope Valley and Project Monarch hosted by Palmdale Water District and Capture6. Elemental Excelerator provided funding for the first phase of project development, construction, and community engagement. This first-of-a-kind project is truly circularity in action - water reuse plus carbon removal - with the added benefit of avoiding many acres of land needed for evaporation ponds. I got chills hearing about the history of the region's water system and the once in a century nature of this new project. Palmdale community leaders are rightfully proud to be at the forefront of not just California's but the planet's solutions to both water and climate challenges. Excited to see this project (and more like it) come to life in the years ahead. As an added bonus, I got to to hold a ceremonial shovel for the first time ever👷♀️ Congrats to Ethan Cohen-Cole Luke Shors Daniela Hamann-Nazaroff, PE Danya Hakeem Shaun Ng Daniella Henry and many more. https://lnkd.in/g_rXgKBB
