Today I presented our paper in the ACM Internet Measurement Conference (IMC) 2023, Montréal, QC, Canada, titled “Replication: “When to Use and When Not to Use BBR””. In this paper, presented as a part of the Reproducibility track, we attempt to replicate the results presented by an IMC 2019 paper titled “When to Use and When Not to Use BBR” independently. We observe that while there is a general agreement in conclusions, some of the specific values reported and the trends do differ, and we mention some reasons for the same. We also extend this work to a new version of TCP BBR (BBRv2) and notice significant differences in behavior from the previous BBR version (BBRv1) - most noticeably a much fewer number of retransmissions. I am extremely grateful to Prof Fraida Fund for suggesting me this venue and for her contributions to this work, right from ideation to implementation and final presentation. I am also grateful to my supervisor Prof Shivendra Panwar for his support, and to the ACM shepherding procedure for helping enhance the quality of the paper significantly. The full paper is available on the ACM Digital Library and can be found in the following link:

A little late to share but back in May our poster IMPaCT: A Parallelized Software Tool for IMDP Construction and Controller Synthesis with Convergence Guarantees was accepted and presented at the 27th ACM International Conference on Hybrid Systems: Computation and Control (HSCC) in Hong Kong. Since only the abstract is available online, I wanted to share the poster itself for those that were interested! If you are interested in finding out more about our software tool, do check out the repository which includes tutorial youtube videos to help with installation and understanding how to use it: https://lnkd.in/eFkd4zNz

Executive Director @ Better Grades Connection | College Admissions Advisor (Undergraduate and Graduate), Standardized Test Preparation, Instructional Math Expert, Math Teacher, Educational Consultant.
Test Prep tip of the day: whenever possible, use resources from the company that writes the exam. Also, always take practice tests with fidelity using the same conditions as the test. If you are preparing for the GRE, use the study materials provided by ETS and also practice with computer-based mock tests. For the LSAT do the same with materials from LSAC.
