Fusion reactor update for you folks 6 car batteries (of electricity) vs one spark plug 😎 Spark plugs create the explosions that make cars move. Explosions = no good. I need this mechanical component in its bare bones! -- just the center electrode. That means removing the metal tip and preventing what's known as "arching, " where electricity jumps a gap (like lightning), creating the explosions that move our cars. A 400 kV 277 km line has been charged without charging current compensation being activated in the respective line differential relay. Load current measured at one end was nearly 200 A and at the other end 265 A (50 MVAR reactor was connected) with nearly 50 deg angle difference between them. Obviously the line differential relay showed more than 200!! A differential current. As I have encountered this type of issue for the first time, I thought to calculate the values manually. It's fascinating when the calculation matches the actual scenario.

METHOD TO EXTRACT MAXIMUM CAPACITY ON CELLS AT HIGHER C-RATES : 1) As, we know in OCV Vs. Capacity curve larger the C-rate than rated ( C/3or as per supplier ) Larger the polarization ( Ohmic,Activation & Concentration ). 2) Greater the polarization. Higher the static cut-off voltage ( Actual relaxed voltage at end ) jump at end and Lower the capacity. 3) The Testing done at our end has shown the Mixed Discharging method ( Example 1C ( just at end voltage ~14%SOC equivalent) move to C/3 or rated discharge rate as per supplier). To get capacity equivalent to rated (C/3 capacity ). 4) The relaxed voltage ( static cut-off voltage ) will be also close to rated discharge rate voltage in case of mixed discharge approach at end.
