Proud Participants in the European Heat Pump Association Policy Debate and 2024 General Assembly.
Today, we joined the European Heat Pump Association's Policy Debate and General Assembly, which provided fantastic insight into the brilliant work of the EHPA over the past 12 months, a look ahead to the future along with an overview of the key Policy Enablers needed across Europe to accelerate heat pump deployment.
Along with the EHPA, we see the correlation between electricity prices and heat pump uptake as crucial to accelerating deployment. Reducing the ratio of electricity and gas prices to 2-1, is optimal. The UK currently stands at 4-1- double! This effort not only supports the viability of heat pumps but also fosters a fairer energy market for all, and supports the lowest carbon heat, being the lowest cost heat.
We're excited to continue to work closely with the EHPA and will be presenting our latest reports at the next meeting of the EHPA's National Associations. Our focus will be on current barriers to enhancing heat pump adoption and the possible opportunities that may arise out of the transition to low carbon heating in the UK. Our collaboration and input is part of our broader effort to support our collective missions and be part of the change we want to see.
A huge thank you to Thomas Nowak for his leadership of the EHPA. We wish him all the best for his future endeavours.
