But why would I be a good DMAW Board Member?
Last week I talked about how I got into this industry, but why have I stayed?
Three reasons:
1- The people. I was blindsided by a #layoff in the summer of 2020. I'll never forget how many people answered my calls, emails, and texts when I reached out for help. There's something special about the people in this industry. Whether it's to make a connection, commiserate about a lackluster campaign or test, or to share joy in recognizing a stellar peer or organization, people really do care! I've made lifelong friends with so many I first knew as client, boss, vendor, or employee.
2 - Impact. As a direct marketer- and digital marketer - it's so rewarding to see the work we do turn into impact for people, families, communities, and more. And because I'm a #datageek, I love being able to see and measure that impact!
3 - The people (again). I'm so grateful to have worked with so many people in this industry - as colleagues, coworkers, or partners. I've found fulfillment in building teams and developing leaders in this community, and hope to do that on a larger scale. I've shared with some of you my current pursuit of #coaching certification. And again, I've been met with enthusiasm, and "how can I helps"?
I've volunteered, spoken, and developed content for DMAW and DMAW EF events for years, and I welcome the chance to do more. I'm excited to bring my experience and leadership, coaching, and culture philosophies to the nonprofit industry on a larger scale. We have more work to do!
What more can I tell you to win your vote?
