We are thrilled to have participated in the 2024 Kickoff Meeting for ARPA-E 's Geologic Hydrogen Exploratory Topics, where our two projects were selected. Hosted by Dr. Doug Wicks, the event brought together 18 innovative teams at the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s National Conservation Training Center in West Virginia. Our team engaged with experts from the U.S. Geological Survey, Environmental Defense Fund, and top geologists and geochemists. The insights gained are invaluable as we advance our technologies for subsurface hydrogen production with low environmental impact. We’re eager to embark on this journey and look forward to the groundbreaking research ahead! #Innovation #Hydrogen #GeologicalHydrogen #CleanEnergy #ARPAEontheRoad 🚗

One of the many great projects by Geoscience Australia (#GA) and its partners. A similar undersea mapping project can be undertaken by Mineral Resources Authority (#MRA) with its partners such as National Maritime Saftey Authority (#NMSA) and National Mapping Bureau Branch (#NMBB) of the Department of Lands and Physical Planning (#DLPP). Such project needs to correctly map the topography, geomorphology, spreading centers, trenches, troughs, steaming grounds, volcano mounts and faults, amongst others. Such mapping will provide information about and give clarity to the geomorphological and geological attributes of our undersea environment. https://lnkd.in/g5XndJY3
🇦🇺 A great project by Geoscience Australia that has provided various sectors with a national dataset. It’s only through accurate data and knowledge sharing that we can better manage the ocean and marine resources for the future. 👉 Read more https://lnkd.in/ep4wdvCT #OceanData #MarineResources #SustainableManagement #Hydrospatial

Mass extinctions are defined as "any substantial increase in the amount of extinction (lineage termination) suffered by more than one geographically wide-spread higher taxon during a relatively short interval of geologic time, resulting in an at least temporary decline in their standing diversity" (Sepkoski, 1986, p. 278). the big five mass extinctions

Kelford (Kel) Mitchel, part of RRG Nature Based Solutions's water team, joined the world's top experts in groundwater recharge at the Biennial Symposium on Managed Aquifer Recharge (BSMAR) in Tucson, AZ. During the symposium, Kel engaged in discussions on a variety of cutting-edge topics, including: 💧 Advanced methods for assessing land suitability for recharge potential using geophysics. 💧 Innovative solutions to address regional groundwater declines amidst climate change challenges. 💧 Case studies on enhancing the productivity of aging recharge facilities. Technical sessions were led by renowned hydrogeologists, well-drillers, and researchers from across the globe. It's events like BSMAR that keep Kel and our team at the forefront of groundwater management, ensuring we're equipped to help our clients face the growing challenges to their groundwater resources. This knowledge is crucial for meeting our clients' needs in combating the global strain on groundwater resources and ensuring the sustainability of operations that depend on this vital resource. 🔈The September #GeoNews is out 📨What are the latest #geology related #policy news? Continue the reading to find out: 📣 Did you miss this year’s State of the Union address? In her speech, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, highlighted several areas where geologists have a critical role to play in the successful mitigation of the energy and climate crises, including critical raw materials or clean #hydrogen. ⚒ Indeed, from the Critical #RawMaterials Act to the Net Zero Industry Act, the Soil Health Act, and the CCS Initiative, the current EU agenda is packed with policy files relevant to the geoscience community. The European Federation of Geologists is working hard to make sure the voice of #geologists is heard at a European level. 🩸 On the 6th of September, EFG hosted an insightful panel discussion titled "Fostering Public Trust in Near Surface Industries: A Path Towards Rebuilding the Vital Talent Pipeline Required for the Green Energy Transition." This engaging event took place at the EAGE Near Surface Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland. The discussion featured four distinguished panellists and drew active participation from 26 attendees. The panel discussion was expertly facilitated by Maureen Gallagher, EFG’s Interim Director of Stakeholder Engagement.
