The #ARPAE24 Energy Innovation Summit Student Program was a huge success! 📅Each year, this program brings together talented grad students and future energy professionals for three days of student-focused activities at the Summit. Student attendees have the unique opportunity to learn about cutting-edge tech, expand their professional networks, and engage with top companies seeking new talent. Plus, ARPA-E’s new undergraduate INTEREST interns joined in on the fun for the first time this year! Here are some key highlights: 🔹Career Panel: ARPA-E Director Dr. Evelyn Wang, Co-Founder & CEO of Eden Dr. Paris Smalls, PhD, and a panel of early-career energy professionals, including Dr. Rachel Starr, Clean Air Task Force, Dr. Carrie McIntosh, PhD, ORISE, Dr. Katharine Greco, Still Bright, Dr. Carly Anderson, Prelude Ventures, and former ARPA-E Fellow, Dr. Jonathan Melville, who shared their journeys and offered students advice for launching exciting careers in energy. 🔹Student Recruiter Meet & Greet: With fresh insights from the career panel, students engaged with over 30 recruiters from top companies and explored diverse career paths in the energy space. 🔹Student PITCHES Session: Six graduate students pitched their innovative energy ideas to a panel of energy experts across industry and academia, including ARPA-E Program Director Dr. Olga Spahn, Brenda Haendler, Breakthrough Energy , Dhanushkodi Mariappan, GE Vernova Advanced Research, Joshua Speros, BASF Venture Capital, and Dr. Emily Yedinak, PhD, Koloma. The winner, Katelyn Ripley, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, then earned the opportunity to pitch her idea on the Main Stage to all Summit attendees the following day. 🎓Calling all Ph.D. students!
