For the first time since the pandemic 2021, accommodation prices in Montenegro have declined. In July, the average price for hotels and similar accommodations dropped by 1.4% compared to the same month last year. In my previous post, I highlighted that Montenegro experienced one of the largest price increases for hotels and restaurants in Europe during the first half of 2024. Now, it seems hotels are lowering their prices, likely due to a weaker-than-expected season. Thessaloniki records the most affordable hotel accommodation prices compared to other European cities. Hotel occupancy rates in Thessaloniki reached 70% and increased by 7.8% compared to 2022, while at the same time increasing the 4 and 5 star hotels. Thessaloniki, due to the lower average room price, showed an increase in revenues of 17.7% compared to 2022. The hotel industry is growing rapidly in the city thanks to the attraction of more and more tourists every year.
