Hey, maybe we don't suck after all! When Chad Staiger and I talked a few years back and told me he was starting a company to change consulting, I was in! Maybe after a little convincing... And since that time, it has been an absolute blast to work alongside him and the entire Torq team to help grow the company into what it has become. But changing consulting for the better doesn't exactly come with an instruction manual, so our leadership team has been doing everything we can to figure out how we keep delivering for our clients without sacrificing our culture. But it's hard! And sometimes we don't know what to do... And sometimes we don't do the right thing *gasp* Maybe I'm the only one, but there have been a few times when I read through an employee survey and I get stuck on one or two comments and start to spiral... -What if we're doing this all wrong? -What if everything we've built has been for nothing? -I guess our employees hate it here... -They've found out that I don't have all the answers... -We suck! Eventually my wife or someone on the leadership team snaps me out of it, we make some adjustments, and we keep on pushing through. And the beauty of hiring some of the best folks in the business is that even when we do start veering off course a bit, everyone jumps in to do their part to get us back on track. But it's moments like these that remind me just how lucky I am that I made the decision to join the crazy startup life. It has been an absolute privilege to help grow Torq into what it is today and I can't imagine myself anywhere else. While becoming a certified "Great Place to Work" is a huge accomplishment and a great reminder that we're on the right track, we've still got work to do! We have a consulting industry to disrupt! 🚀 🚀 🚀 Katherine Staiger Stefan Ralston Michael Varraveto Scott Layton, CPA

New certification... The importance of a code of conduct cannot be overstated. It serves as the compass guiding behavior within a community or organization, fostering an environment of respect, safety, and accountability. By adhering to its principles, individuals uphold the values of inclusivity, professionalism, and ethical conduct, ultimately contributing to a culture of trust and collaboration. In essence, a code of conduct is not just a set of rules; it's the foundation upon which positive relationships and thriving communities are built... #worklife #organizationculture #Codeofconduct

The B Corp certification evaluates the entirety of a business’ operations and covers five key impact areas of Governance, Workers, Customers, Community and Environment. Kelly Neagle, our Operations Specialist explains what is involved in this process "As part of the certification process, companies are required to provide employee information which is aimed at evaluating the company’s commitment to its workforce and its efforts to create a positive impact on employee’s lives. This includes statistics on the number of employees, diversity & inclusion data, compensation practices & salary information and turnover & retention rates. This information is crucial for evaluating the company’s impact on its workforce and ensuring that we meet the standards set. For example, the diversity & inclusion data helps assess the company’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace environment and data like turnover & retention helps assess the company’s ability to attract and retain talent." Find out more about what is involved in gaining B Corp certification on our website https://lnkd.in/eUBvJxXd #bcorpmonth #Masonbreese #projectmanagement #strategicchange #bcorp

Last night we hosted the launch of Best Places to Work, a ground-breaking new programme that aims to support New Zealand to be the best place to work in the world. We are delighted to be partnering with Best Places to Work as the Foundation Sponsor because we know the employee experience matters in business. Engaged workforces are more productive workforces and can help businesses improve their profitability, reduce their costs and support innovation. Through our partnership, we want to recognise and celebrate those Kiwi businesses that are delivering extraordinary employee experiences as well as helping raise the tide of all businesses by providing support, inspiration, tools and examples to those organisations as they continue their journey. Best Places to Work is built on three streams. The first is an employee-led survey that will provide you with an in-depth analysis of your organisation's employee experience. This will be followed by the Best Places to Work Awards, which will celebrate the best in New Zealand across a range of categories. Finally, there will be a series of masterclasses and workshops, bringing together industry experts, leaders and award winners to share their knowledge and experience in creating a world-class working environment. To learn more, or to access the survey, simply visit https://lnkd.in/gNmdecwz. Best of all, EMA members receive a 20% discount on the survey entry fee.

🗯Absolutely! Regularly obtaining and responding to employee feedback is a crucial aspect of fostering a positive work environment. 👉It's essential to keep a pulse on your employees' sentiments and gauge whether your efforts are leading towards the desired outcomes. In this context, an annual Certification renewal becomes a cornerstone of maintaining strong ties with your employees. 📈It allows you to capture a benchmarked perspective of their feedback, and as societal dynamics evolve, it helps ensure that you're persistently delivering a great experience. 💪An up-to-date Certification is an effective signal to your employees, prospective hires, and clients that you're committed to providing an exceptional work environment. 💪When they see a continuous streak of annual Certifications, they'll understand that you've been consistently dedicated to enhancing the work experience over the years. 👉 If you want to learn more about how your company can become Great Place To Work-Certified™ visit https://lnkd.in/eUcGfwrD or call us at 22 364 777.
