The Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR) took effect last Saturday -- with significant new obligations for CPOs. Importantly, Article 20 mandates CPOs to ensure all public recharge point data is available via National Access Points (NAPs). As many CPOs prepare for the April 2025 deadline to make static and dynamic data accessible, it's crucial to consider that many Member States (will) have binding obligations to integrate data into NAPs well before that date already. Adding to the complexity is that NAPs exist in many forms. There are data warehouses, registers and even data platforms. Each NAP has its own mandatory fields and most have additional extra fields specific to that NAP. At Eco-Movement, we offer specialized support to ensure that Charge Point Operators are fully compliant with both AFIR's requirements and the specific demands of each NAP framework. Our service is designed to navigate these complexities on your behalf, making sure you are always compliant and can focus on your core business. 📣 Here's another example of the great progress we're making at SSEN in setting up fit-for-purpose, flexible electricity services. ⚡ We're delighted to let you know that we've reached agreements worth £30 million, which will allow us to quickly procure more flex services when the need arises. 🤝 SSEN's Flexibility Manager Catherine Winning says, "Our distinctive approach will remove one of the barriers to getting involved in Flexibility, by reducing the level of contracting needed, thus allowing us to focus on the services we need and the value they deliver for the customer, and for ourselves." 👩⚖️ 🕰 So the #Alternative_Fuels_Infrastructure_Regulation has entered in validity as of 13 of April 2024. 🚗 ⚡ Big leap forward in terms of accessibility to public charging stations for the EV Drivers, particularly for what concerns possibility to pay for ad-hoc charging sessions with a credit/debit card. #AFIR will have a big impact also on #CPO's business models and on #EV_Charging_Station_Manufacturers as it does impact the design and build of the equipment. ☀ Happy to see that the #European_Commission shed some light by publishing "Questions and Answers on the Regulation on the deployment of alternative fuels Infrastructure (EU2023/1804)" which addresses some of the most debated topics of the past months, for example payment via #QRcode. more infos here: https://lnkd.in/dKWQ2raM

From April 15, 2024, it will once again be possible to submit BritNed redispatch bids for GOPACS, enabling participants to help mitigate #capacity shortages in the Dutch electricity grid (congestion), whilst also providing another route to market. GREAT NEED FOR FLEXIBLE CAPACITY When flexible power is deployed in congestion areas with redispatch in the Intraday market, a "counter-bid" of flexible power is always needed in another area. This allows grid operators to ensure the balance of the power grid when resolving congestion. BritNed allows Congestion Service Providers (CSPs) to provide flexible power from the BritNed connection point in the Netherlands. This increases the flexible power on GOPACS for the required counterbids. GOPACS connected parties thus have a higher chance that redispatch can take place with their bids and grid operators have more opportunities to apply congestion management. CONGESTION SERVICE PROVIDERS (CSPs) Market participants wishing to make redispatch bids via BritNed must be CSPs to do so. GOPACS ask CSPs, who have not previously been active on the BritNed connection, to indicate that they want to use the BritNed connection point. You will then receive the required location identifier (an EAN). New Zealand's electricity distribution businesses (EDBs) are forecasting a need to significantly increase the level of investment in their networks, to address forecasted demand growth (driven by electrification) and an increasing focus on the need for more resilient networks. The Commerce Commission's upcoming 2024 decision on the next default price-quality path (DPP4) to apply to the 16 regulated EDBs will be critical in the context of this forecasted investment. Last week the Commission released the Issues Paper on Financeability of electricity distribution services in the default price-quality path (Issues Paper). In December 2023 the Commission ruled out a prescriptive financeability test in its input methodologies. The Commission has now set out its views on the relevance of financeability to its upcoming DPP4 decision and seeks stakeholder feedback by Friday, 15 March. The Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe BVB have been working on increasing the nominal voltage from 600VDC to 750VDC for quite some time. But what are the advantages and challenges of such an upgrade? We are pleased to support Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe BVB on this path. After doing an energy study, and updated it to today's environmental conditions, we are now investigating the necessary measures and the associated costs. We’re looking forward showing BVB a possible path to voltage conversion soon. #BVB #energystudy #changeover
