We are reflecting on a powerful evening at The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa with a special screening of "The Paradise Paradox" for Athletic Club members and East West Hospitality employees. Produced by Bode Miller and Brett Rapkin, this impactful film shines a spotlight on the mental health crisis in America’s mountain towns, with a particular focus on our beloved Eagle Valley community. It highlights innovative solutions such as community services and expanded insurance coverages and also features insights from our Resident Athlete and Olympic gold medalist, Mikaela Shiffrin. With Vail Health Behavioral Health and SpeakUp ReachOut, we see firsthand the transformative power of open dialogue and community support in tackling these challenges. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this important event. Let's continue to foster progress and support for mental health, both in our mountain communities and beyond. #MentalHealthAwareness #EastWestHospitality #WestinRiverfront #ParadiseParadox

Couldn't agree more with this post! It's time for a change and a fresh perspective in the strata industry, particularly in NSW. In fact, Alex McCormick would make an excellent new President of SCA NSW, despite being a Victorian. Let's be brave and courageous together to demand change, to bring new ideas and strategies to lay the foundations for sustainable profitability, increased education of lot owners and most importantly, an improved focus on conditions for the hard working strata managers to address and protect their mental health. Standards of leadership at SCA NSW must improve drastically to ensure a bright and sustainable future. #strataindustry #leadership #freshperspective"
Dear #SCA national conference attendees and in particular board members, Please use this time to advocate in the manner of Jean Luc Picard, when protecting and advancing the interests of #stratamanagement within the #strata industry. Sustainable profitability, improved staff outcomes and mental health, and a rising tide approach to lift all boats are essential. 15 years of sliding backwards is quite enough please and it rather feels as though we've been nibbled at enough from every which way. Thanks :) #ownerscorporation #bodycorporate #property

I'm sharing this post from Chance Marshall today because it really resonates with me. Having a policy does not mean you are actively supporting wellbeing. Ask yourself this question: What are you doing to build a culture that prioritises the wellbeing of your employees? If you can't answer this quickly, you are not doing enough. Why does it matter? Life can be incredibly challenging 🌟, and everyone is affected by mental health problems during difficult times 🌈. Personally, I struggled when my son was diagnosed with a life-threatening allergy, and I was suffering from menopause symptoms. I left a job I loved 💔, but instead, I should have talked to someone to help rationalise my thoughts and fears. Don’t let this be the only option for your employees. Provide proactive support to help them recognise the signs when they need help and know who to turn to. Train your managers to be the best they can be and to genuinely ask their teams, "How are you?" 💬 It's time to move from reactive to proactive wellbeing support. Leaders need to create an environment where wellbeing is prioritised, an environment where everyone can get involved and contribute.

Too good not to re-post. It's not that hard to make a HUGE difference to your business by looking after your people. And before you say it - EVERYONE can do it, regardless of size, regardless of budget, regardless of time. Little, often and over time changes make the biggest difference, not a once a year wellbeing week or yoga class. I admire Chance Marshall for saying it as he sees it - and now encouraging me to do the same. #mentalhealthawarenessweek #wellbeingwashing #mindfulness #mindfulnessatwork #employeewellbeing Alex Strang Moment Company Selfspace

Four in five suicides in the UK are by men. …and suicide is the biggest cause of death for men under 35. As we mark Men’s Health Week, let’s take a moment to talk about an unspoken issue in the construction industry: mental health. On LinkedIn, we talk a lot about PPE and ways to improve your physical safety on site, but we care equally about the mental well-being of the community. Unfortunately, there is no magic hard hat that can protect you from mental health difficulties in the same way a mask can protect you from sawdust. In 2021, we tragically lost 507 colleagues in the construction industry to suicide. In 2020, workers in construction were at some of the highest risks of suicide in the country; 3.7x higher than the national average. Mental health issues in our field are four times higher than in the general population, and a third of construction workers face elevated levels of anxiety every day. Your mental health matters just as much as your physical safety. If you or someone you know is struggling, please don’t keep it to yourself. There’s help available whether you’d rather call, email, text, or live chat. Click here for a full range of services: https://lnkd.in/g--Rm92 The attached thought-provoking video was made last October by Norwich Football Club and made waves on the internet on release. In this time of heightened awareness, remember to reach out to your colleagues and friends. Let’s support each other and build a healthier, happier future together. https://lnkd.in/eDCiYfvM #mentalhealth #menshealthweek #menshealth #healthandsafety #samaritans Sources: UK Parliament, mind.org & MatesinMind.org

A design-thinking oriented process, communication and content strategist, able to see both the big picture and the small details at the same time.
Wellbeingwashing is prevalent, prompting the need for critical reflection on mental health support in the workplace during Mental Health Awareness Week. Don't overlook the importance of questioning the credibility of employers who claim to support employees' mental health while ignoring underlying issues - it's akin to setting fire to a forest and attempting to extinguish it with a branded bottle of water. This issue will likely surface frequently on social media platforms throughout the week.

#MentalHealthAwareness is needed 24/7/365. It is not just a one week annual event. Policies mean nothing if they're not implemented, followed, staff aren't supported and managers not trained to recognise signs of mental ill health and act with empathy, without judgement and with compassion towards their coworkers/team. #MHFA #WellbeingMatters #MentalHealthMatters

OMG this is so accurate ! I never got my head around the idea of some companies promoting unhealthy and toxic behaviours from their top managers. They're absolutely no space for the employees to address the issues. I remember back then when I used to work for a luxurious brand which the culture was clearly blackmailing and humiliating people you will got to work tip toeing without knowing how the manager will be behaving with you today #toxicasF Now I'm like now way I'm going back into a 9to5 I learned my lessons #mentalhealth #wellbeing
