I often hear that #culture is the reason for not allowing remote work. Culture is not static. Like technology, it evolves over time as things around us change. If you’re handcuffing your company’s retention, recruitment, and overall moral in hopes of preserving your culture, then your culture is not benefiting you. It’s time to evolve, and it’s not that hard! You just have to learn how and commit. There’s a hashtag that says #culturefirst. Blah! It’s #peoplefirst. As they are the culture.

Be exceptional! A company that it’s incredibly hard for your people to leave behind. These are some of the core elements that make up these organizations according to Achievers. A big one not pictured that we talk about time and time again is recognition. Ensure you recognize both individual and team accomplishments. If you see your people growing, make sure you say something. We take time to point out the bad but not enough time to point out the good. Reinforce your shared values and acknowledge how each person fits with them. #CompanyCulture #BusinessTransformation

What a company recognizes and celebrates matters. As an integrated commerce agency, it would be natural to reward business accomplishments and metrics. But we play a team sport, so attributing results to an individual can be difficult. Recognizing and celebrating the wrong thing can be toxic to a culture. What we celebrate and reward has far reaching, often unintended, consequences that can sabatoge a culture in two potential ways. First, it can motivate unhealthy behavior in those seeking recognition. Second, it can actually demotivate those not recognized by killing morale. At Harvest Group, we decided years ago to celebrate and recognize living out our values. It is one of the most impactful cultural decisions we have made to date. Nominations are open to the entire company and a representative committee from every office, largely made up of past award winners select the winners (not leadership). It means something to those recognized and to the rest of us to see them celebrated. I also suspect it means more than I realize to the future health of our culture. Our annual Values Awards Dinner is one of my favorite nights of the year. It shows our team what we are truly made of and inspires us to keep getting better. Congratulations to all of this years award winners!
Every year one of the highlights of Big Meeting is the celebration of our Values Awards winners. These individuals are nominated by their peers for displaying our values in an outstanding way over the past year both in their personal and professional lives. As a values-based company, we want to take the time to celebrate the meaningful ways our values come to life in our culture and recognizing these people is just one way we do that. We are proud to celebrate these six special people for their contribution to our culture and we are continually thankful for the big and small ways our teammates live our values every day! When we take the time to recognize and celebrate the excellence we see in others, we not only elevate them but also lift up our entire team. By expressing gratitude and acknowledging the outstanding contributions of our colleagues, we create a ripple effect that extends far beyond the moment of recognition. We foster a culture of belonging, collaboration, and shared success, where everyone feels valued and motivated to bring their best selves to work each day. Moreover, when we model the practice of appreciation, we set the stage for others to follow suit. We empower our team members to recognize and celebrate one another's achievements, strengthening the bonds of trust and respect that are essential to any thriving organization. And don’t we need more of that in the world today? So today, I challenge you to take a moment to express your genuine appreciation for a colleague or team member who embodies excellence. Whether it's a heartfelt message, a public acknowledgment, or a simple "thank you," your words have the power to make a lasting impact. Who’s with me? #AppreciationAtWork #CultureOfGratitude #LeadershipInspiration #EmployeeRecognition #TransformativePower

Don't worry when you're not recognized, but strive to be worthy of recognition. When you recognize someone for their accomplishments, it's a way of saying "I see what you're doing and I think it's good." But what happens when we don't notice? We miss the chance to tell people how much we appreciate them, and we also miss out on learning from others' successes. We all have something special to offer the world—something that nobody else can do as well as us. So today, take a moment to appreciate what makes you unique and valuable, and then go out there and do something amazing with it! #HappyLaborday #Salutetotheworkers #Workersappreciationday

🌟 Gratitude, Humility, Leadership, and Pride 🌈 As we celebrate Pride Month, it's important to reflect on the values that make us not just good professionals, but good people. In the world of leadership, practicing gratitude and humility can make a world of difference. 🙏 **Gratitude**: Take a moment to appreciate all the opportunities, support, and achievements that have come your way. Expressing gratitude can not only improve your own well-being but also strengthen your relationships with colleagues and team members. Remember, it takes a village to succeed! 💬 **Humility**: True leaders are not only defined by their accomplishments but also by their ability to stay grounded and humble. Embrace your failures and challenges as opportunities for growth, and remember that every person you meet has something valuable to teach you. 🌟 **Leadership**: Lead by example by embodying the values you wish to see in your team. Inspire others through your actions, empower them to grow and succeed, and always be ready to lend a helping hand. True leadership is about lifting others up and creating a positive impact in the world. 🏳️🌈 **Pride Month**: As we celebrate diversity and inclusion during Pride Month, let's remember that leadership is also about creating a safe and welcoming space for everyone to be their authentic selves. Embrace the uniqueness of each individual, celebrate their contributions, and stand up for equality and acceptance in the workplace and beyond. Let's continue to strive for a world where gratitude, humility, strong leadership, and pride in our identities are not just celebrated during special occasions but embedded in our everyday actions. Together, we can create a more inclusive, supportive, and successful professional community. Happy Pride Month to all! 🌈 #Gratitude #Humility #Leadership #PrideMonth #DiversityandInclusion

🌟 Embracing Recognition: Keeping Purpose at the Heart of Every Day 🌟 Recognition isn't just about accolades or awards; it's about acknowledging the impact we have on others and the value we bring to our work. Whether it's a simple "thank you" from a colleague or a formal appreciation program, recognition amplifies our sense of purpose and motivates us to keep striving for excellence. Moreover, recognizing others creates a ripple effect of positivity within teams and organizations. By celebrating achievements and highlighting contributions, we foster a culture of appreciation where everyone feels valued and empowered to unleash their full potential. So let's make recognition a cornerstone of our daily routine, not just as a formality but as a genuine expression of gratitude and respect. Together, we can keep our purpose front and center, fueling our drive to make a lasting impact in everything we do. #Recognition #Purpose #Gratitude #Empowerment Thank You Shahzad Virani
