In my recent project, the primary focus was on addressing gender-based violence (GBV) to mitigate its occurrence and minimize its impact, particularly within the context of preventing incidents of GBV and sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA). This endeavor afforded me a deeper understanding of the intricate connections between GBV and various human rights violations, including sexual, civil, religious and other related rights. Consequently, I consider it beneficial to have dedicated time to delve into this subject matter and remain committed to furthering my knowledge in this field.

Taking this course instilled in me the importance of Mental Capacity in my line of duty.The modules covered among other topics, defination of mental capacity; identifying the key principles of mental capacity, the key concepts from the Mental Capacity Act (2005), Adults with incapacity (Scotland) 2000, or Mental Capacity Act (Northern Ireland) 2016; Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and my role as a care professional in using mental capacity to provide care. 📣 The Western Framework for Free Expression and Free Speech This episode we explore the Western framework for protecting freedom of expression and its ability to address new challenges such as abuse, harassment, mis/disinformation, and mental health threats. The conversation highlights the differences between the European and American approaches to hate speech regulation (and emphasises the importance of context and nuance in both systems) and delves into the complexities of managing freedom of expression at universities and the impact of social media on hate speech regulation.

Hi world: I am excited to introduce a new resource that I designed for Boston Public Schools’ students, focused on racial trauma. This interactive resource was created to support and affirm Black and Brown students who may be navigating the long-term consequences of racism, anti-Blackness, and discrimination. Increasing awareness of racial trauma empowers students to subsequently seek support and resources to advance racial healing. This will make students better prepared to self-advocate for supports, services, or resources that they may need to heal, learn, and thrive.
