Do you ever wonder if simple actions can truly make a difference in someone's life? Happy Disability Pride Month! Meet Camille Mitchell (our friend, Cara D. Mitchell's big sister), an inspiring author born with arthrogryposis. Her book, "Please Don't Stare," teaches children and adults about embracing differences and fostering inclusivity. Camille says, "For me, it's about creating a world where everyone feels seen and valued, regardless of their abilities." A parent shared, "My child feels more understood and accepted after reading Camille's book. It has made a significant difference in how they see themselves and others." How to Be a Good Ally: ⚫ Smile and greet people naturally. Examples: Say hello, make eye contact, and use a friendly tone. 🔴 Offer help if someone seems to need it, but always ask first. Examples: "Can I assist you with that?" or "Would you like any help?" ⚪ Learn and share information about disabilities to promote understanding. Examples: Read articles, attend workshops, and share resources with friends. Order Camille’s book "Please Don't Stare" on Amazon: https://lnkd.in/eEsUVSTF Join us in celebrating Disability Pride Month by supporting Camille’s impactful work! ❤️ #aftermarketALLY #DisabilityPrideMonth #Inclusion #Allyship

July is Disability Pride Month! This month we commemorate the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) into law on July 26, 1990. Every day is a time to celebrate people with disabilities, their identities, and contributions to society. Let's create more space for disabled individuals and embrace acceptance, ensuring everyone can thrive and feel valued. Here are some ways to advocate for inclusion within your daily life: • Educate Yourself: Learn about disabilities and challenges faced. • Use Inclusive Language: Be mindful and respectful. • Promote Accessibility: Advocate for ramps, elevators, and accessible spaces. • Support Disability-Owned Businesses: Shop and share. • Be an Ally: Support voices, challenge stereotypes. • Volunteer: Help organizations supporting disabilities. • Ensure Digital Accessibility: Use alt text, captions. • Advocate for Policies: Support inclusive legislation. • Be Considerate: Offer seats, hold doors. • Listen and Learn: Understand and engage. Together, we can create an inclusive world! #DisabilityPride #AcceptanceForAll #MakeSpace #EmbraceAcceptance #InclusionMatters

Happy Disability Pride Month! It’s truly a celebration and I love that our country takes the time to honor the advancements and contributions of individuals with disabilities, but it shouldn’t stop there. Support should be part of our everyday lives, all year round. I, along with others, get pulled in for the month of July, October, as well as December 3rd for awareness campaigns. It is my heart’s desire that our experiences and expertise are not limited to just awareness holidays. These are great launching pads, but making this a consistent and transcendent conversation that permeates everyday life should become a social norm. I strongly encourage and support everyone in taking the first step today, making a commitment to making our workplaces more inclusive. What are you doing this month to make a difference? Are you hosting inspiring events, joining impactful webinars, or committing to making your spaces more accessible? Maybe you’re launching new initiatives or engaging in service that changes policy or practices. Persons with disabilities are the largest marginalized community in the world, yet we are still fighting for equity & inclusion. It doesn’t have to be this way at all and you absolutely have the power to change that. Share your exciting plans and actions. We can work TOGETHER to create a more inclusive society, not just for this month, but for the next 365 days. Be an A11y 😎

🌟 Celebrating Disability Pride Month in July! 🌈 In the spirit of inclusivity and diversity, we join hands to amplify the voices of our amazing community during Disability Pride Month. 🎉 Disability Pride is all about celebrating and reclaiming our visibility in public because people with disabilities have historically been pushed out of public spaces. Within the flag, each colour stripe has a meaning: • Blue: mental illness. • Yellow: cognitive and intellectual disabilities. • Green: sensory perception disabilities. • Red: physical disabilities. • The Black Field: this field is to represent the disabled people who have lost their lives due to not only their illness, but also negligence, suicide, and eugenics. • The Lightning Bolt: the shape of the lightning bolt represents the non-lateral lives that many disabled people live, often having to adapt themselves or their physical routes to get around an inaccessible society. We embrace and celebrate the unique strengths, talents, and perspectives of individuals with disabilities. Together, we create a place that champions accessibility, acceptance, and equality for all. 🌍✨ #DisabilityPride #InclusionMatters #DiversityandInclusion #Equality #SocialJustice #EmbraceDifferences #celebration #DisabilityPrideMonth #diversity
