Thank you NWT for coordinating this letter. It was crass and ill advised of the highest order for those politicians to attack a person just doing their job, one which ministers and MP’s are fully aware of but like most in this government choose to ignore when they want to, 3 of these MP’s are standing down at the next election! This issue is just backing local politicians who ignore facts, procedures, people, and common sense, doesn’t make it right. A road through an internationally important habitat, a chalk river and a nationally important bat population isn’t listening especially when there are alternative routes ok a mile west and over sterile farmland but they are alternatives. A road that cost £100 million per mile, just think about that for a second!! It’s not economically viable, you could build Bernard Matthews a factory, a new ambulance station and new ambulances for NNorfolk and still have change!! These MP’s haven’t read the latest reports out this week reposted by me and others that people want fast clean public transport not more roads, they want choice to use good timely fast public transport when they can and cars when they can’t, they want to reduce cars on the roads so public transport works faster because people have got the fact climate change is happening, but I suppose that’s not convenient for the MP’s or for businesses that didn’t move with the times and now find where they are non profitable in a global economy and lack of European markets. This road across this space is not needed, viable or cost effective and there are alternative routes including upgrading the existing Lenwade to Hockingham road. Ok rant over Those MP’s should know better and should stop victimising people doing their job.

As rain and snowmelt cascade across the USA Garrison Fort Sill cantonment area, much of it flows over buildings and pavement, which are impermeable surfaces that prevent water from soaking into the ground. The runoff is channeled through storm drains into nearby creeks, such as East Cache Creek, Sitting Bear Creek, Medicine Creek, Wolf Creek, and Mission Creek. Eventually, these waterways converge and drain into the Red River, which flows into the Gulf of Mexico in Louisiana. The America the Beautiful Freshwater Challenge sets a new goal to protect, restore, & reconnect 8M acres of wetlands & 100k miles of rivers. Wetland protections are critical following the Supreme Court’s Sackett v. EPA decision, which narrowed the scope of federally protected wetlands. In this interview with WUWM’s Susan Bence, Center for Water Policy Director, Melissa Scanlan discussed the court ruling’s effects on Wisconsin wetlands, which have undergone changes in state-level protection laws. The decision is expected to shift regulatory responsibility to the states, but the extent of its impact on wetlands remains uncertain. 📰 : Maryland Department of Natural Resources Presents Emergency Regulations to Increase Protections for Maryland’s Striped Bass Spawning Population In response to five years of below average spawning success for striped bass, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources is submitting emergency regulations to help bolster the species’ spawning population. This includes extending closure dates during the 2024 season. These changes, if formally approved, will close the May trophy season.
