Reflections on EBC23 ➡️ A Transformative Experience! Exciting news from the European Bioplastics Conference EBC23! Plastrans Technologies had the privilege of being part of this dynamic event, where our Managing Director, Dr.Günther Gratzl, our Director of Sustainability, Dr. Rudi Eswein, and our Program-Director Biopolymers, Enea Saraci, immersed themselves in the latest developments in the #bioplastics industry. The conference underscored the growing importance of regulatory support for the biopolymer industry to be able to play out its significance for reaching the European Green Deal's goal and renewable material targets. European 🇪🇺 Union paves the way with large funding programs for development of biobased materials, but in the light of upcoming regulations and the currently difficult economic environment the industry cannot exploit their full potential and therefore needs support to contribute to drive the transition. Despite of the difficulties the bioplastics industry shows resilience, gains momentum and is projected to grow significantly, thanks to the unique EU based know-how in #sustainability technologies. A special note of appreciation to Hasso von Pogrell , Managing Director of European Bioplastics, for orchestrating this impactful gathering and the whole European Bioplastics Team for organizing the world class event. We were thrilled to connect with existing partners and further enrich our network and collaborative efforts in advancing the bioplastics🌱industry.

Another great WORLD MATERIALS FORUM thanks to co-chairs Victoire de Margerie and Philippe Varin and organising team. Aside from this session on innovation and disruptive tech, there was a fascinating session on finance and scaling-up major projects. Start-ups need friends and partners when shifting from a great idea to industrial scale deployment. Not so easy to make high-performance batteries with low wastage rates, for example.
Breakthrough innovators at the industrial scale - now and next gen. together in Paris for WORLD MATERIALS FORUM 2024! Philippe Varin Robert Friedland, Patrick KOLLER, Vincent Yang, Hideo Ohno, Brian Menell, Johan Menckel, Hugo Leandri, Pierre Desjardins, William Chueh, Virginia Klausmeier, Tom Pilette, Michael Liedtke - and me. All about high pulse power, low energy electronics, hydrogen solutions, next gen batteries, next gen recycling of batteries, new CAM processes, quantum, and decarbonation of bulk materials! Impossible is no longer impossible!

Thanks to Pegah Shakeri, PhD for presenting the potential of electrodes and electrochemistry in CO₂ conversion and its part in the #WaterProofProject
The #HorizonEU #WaterProofProject was concisely explained by the gorgous Pegah Shakeri, PhD in her talk at #2024CCU where she, besides others, elaborated on the electrodes used for CO2-conversion in WaterProof's innovative electrochemical process. You can still find her at the booth by Coatema Coating Machinery GmbH at the end of day two of the CO2-based fuels and chemicals conference! WaterProof aims at closing the waste(water) carbon loop by creating a novel biorefinery concept converting CO2 emissions from urban waste treatment facilities into valuable green consumer-products. The objective is a technology resulting in a GHG reduction based on CO2 utilization, replacement of fossil feedstock and industrial electrification.
